I'm looking for a light weight hang on stand more reasonably priced than lone wolf. I think I'm sold on the XOP Vanish XT but wanted some input from someone who has used it first. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thanks for letting me know. I thought this stand came out last year. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I don't think you can go wrong based on the reviews all of the xop stands. I just picked up an xps silver at the iowa whitetail classic for 125. It is like the air raid only not powder coated. I don't think they still produce it. But for 125, it was a no-brainer.
I hunted with the Vanish XT the entire season this past season. I have no experience with Lone wolff but I thought it was a great stand. I still wish their was an easier way to carry lone wolf sticks with the stand though.
Tried out my XOP Vanish this weekend and I'm very happy with it. Getting the lone wolf sticks attached for carry in an efficient manner is a struggle, but that's my only complaint. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I did actually.I didnt really like them and ended up selling them on craiglist a few days later. The stand is small enough and just didnt like how they held on. I think I might have given up to early and I have another trick up my sleeve that I'd like to try where I would just use 2 talons on the inside where you feet are not bothered by them when hunting. I would basically have the talon hold the one end of the stick and then I would use 1 bunjie to keep them from banging around.
I agree I can get them stacked and strapped to the stand but it takes me forever. I hate dinking around putting stuff together. I want to be able to climb down get my stand and sticks off the tree and be walking out fast. Not fumbling around trying to get the sticks stacked and strapped together etc.
This is my current set up- trying out the stick talons. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I own the air raid and it's a pretty nice stand. Easy to setup, quiet, solid, and pretty comfy. The vanish is a little lighter but should be very similar. sent from my mini hand held phone
After playing with this stand for a good long while I can say that it is very sturdy and it everything XOP advertises except for the weight. XOP advertises it as 11lbs. It's actually 13 lbs and with the two straps and buckles needed to hold it on the tree it is a little over 14 pounds. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
