My Squadron in the assult during the summer second offensive of 1968. 521 dead NVA. We started with 105 vehicles running and finished with 65. One Medal of Honor for a worthy grunt on loan to us, a couple DCS's and a bunch of bobbles later.... it was over after 3 days. We know we got a whole lot more.... but that was the count. I believe this was actually a picture by some freelance photographer that somehow bumbed a ride. The doc found it in archives. My first horse and Purple Heart. Lost my driver. Sad day. Army 11 bravo(infantryman) SSG 2000-2013 Kosovo, Iraq twice, and Afghanistan I have lots of respect for Vietnam vets like Davidmil, I've had some rough days but I know they don't compare at all to the hardships those men faced.
US Army 8 August 1996 - Present Infantry for about 9 years, switched over to flying Kiowa's and been doing that since 2004 now. I'll hit 20 years in August of 2016, haven't decided about dropping a retirement packet when I'm eligible because my board for CW4 is 6 months before I hit 20 so may wait and see what happens with that.
I would definitely wait for board results. I signed a dec statement a couple months before the 2012 SFC list came out and I had made the list with a low sequence number. I was pretty upset with my decision at the time, I eventually accepted it.

USMC 1976 - 1997. Nine years enlisted last 12 as an officer in the grunts. Two and a half trips around the world, 26 countries. Served with some great Americans, and every time I came home I appreciated the good old USA all that much more.
