I made a big switch this summer to a G5 Prime Centroid bow. And let me tell you I couldn't be more satisfied. The engineering of this bow and the attention to detail is second to none in my opinion. The "shootability" of this bow is incredible. Its like point and click. It was easy to set-up I literally had to do nothing to the bow to it to tune it. I shoot 60lb RH 26.5in carbon express blue streaks at 28" and I chrono'ed the bow at Swatara Creek outfitters in Annville, PA at 301 ft per sec.!! Just can't beleive how smooth this bow shoots. Its shorter brother the "Shift" is no slacker either. I shot the Centroid so well for 3D that I didn't have the heart to mess with it for hunting so i went and bought the shift just for hunting. I know its excessive but bow hunting is my only vise. ( at least that is what I keep telling my wife). Then she says well what about fly fishing and bow fishing and I say those are different....lol. Anyway. Just wanted to give props to G5. I always used their broad heads and figured if the broad heads are such quality then the bows have to be right there and I was right. so glad I made the switch. Can't wait to harvest a whitetail with one. Thanks for reading my ramblings.

As you can tell from my Signature line, I'm shooting the Centroid. There's a lot to love about this bow for sure. I'm still working out some kinks, but it's not with the bow, but more with the set up. I'm shooting 70lbs on a 29.5" draw and roughly 400 grains. It has a smooth draw cycle and rock solid back wall. I could hold this bow back for a long time. There's absolutely no creep forward. Letting down is a little bit harder than I thought it would be though. It's not the fastest bow on the market, but I'm shooting about 310 fps roughly with my setup and that's plenty fast for me. I can't even pick the arrow up coming off the bow on shots 20 yards and under. I'm still getting adjusted and used to it, but I pulled out my old bow and shot it last week, and it felt so different that what I remembered. It was like stepping out of a corvette and into a VW Bug. It was amazing at how much better the Centroid felt. Not to mention its a sweet looking bow too.

I need to take some more pictures with it all fitted, but here's some I took a while back.

I held and shot one and I wasnt very pleased with it. It seemed ungodly heavy for todays standards of bow. And the draw cycle was odd, I cant say why, but it just was. Something felt off, plus the axle to axle turns me off. just my .02. Then again I shoot a PSE Nova from 2001 right now, but Ill be upgrading soon. Plus, Skywalker, that is a sweet looker thats for sure.

It weighs 4lbs bare, which falls in line with just about every other bow out there. The Hoyt Carbons are a little lighter 3.6 and 3.8 lbs. The Heli-M comes in at 3.5. I feel that a little heavier bow actually is a benefit. It helps keep me stable and on target, not floating all over the place. As for axle to axle, I'm 6'2" and a taller axle to axle just feels better to me, again, I think it is a little more forgiving.

I get your points but maybe it was the distribution of weight or something that made it feel unreasonably bulky. With as much distance as it takes me to hike into my stands I need to spare as much weight as i can and that half pound or so makes a difference.
