Against an Alabama, LSU, Oregon and probably KState... the way they played tonight... ND would have been destroyed.
ND and Bama both escaped with a win after a terrible performance yesterday. ND may play their way out of contention even with an undefeated record with all these close calls. All 3 have a solid footing above them at this point. Bama finally looked human, McCarron showing a weak game for the most part until it mattered most in the end. K State looked good. Oregon didn't show us anything new... They can score in droves but can't stop a team on defense. It will be interesting to see them against a top 5 type team. I'm hoping for an Oregon Bama shootout for a National Championship.
I wish K-State and Oregon could play it out before the BCS game is decided. ND won... they keep finding a way. Teams that do that are usually worthy to fear.
Oregon hasn't played a defense like Alabama. They are the fastest, biggest defense in the NCAA... Grown men. I don't see Oregon putting up points like that against them. And don't forget Georgia lurking around at number 5.... In the end, a 1-loss SEC champion will still pull rank in the BCS game.
Most years yes... but not over an undefeated Pac12 champ or undefeated Big12 champ...or even undefeated ND at this point. The voters want change from the past near decade now of SEC dominance IMO, and dropping a game gives them a reason to do so. I agree that ND has NOT looked like a 9-0 team but the fact remains that they are (worst 9-0 team ever goes to the Louisville Cardinals this year)...crazy they may go undefeated into a BCS bowl...I hope they draw K State or Georgia and get smashed by 50.
This is true. They are so irrelevant that I forgot they were undefeated. I take back my previous statement. ND is the second worst 9-0 team I've ever seen in my lifetime.
Yeah it will definitely take an off game vs a career game kind of scenario like Saturday presented, but Bama is certainly beatable.
I just hate how there will most likely be more than one undefeated team at the end of the year... Wish they would just keep playing till only 1 left
I completely agree! I'm actually an LSU fan first and foremost, and an SEC fan second. If you really watched the game, LSU should have won by two touchdowns, but they never could capitalize on mistakes or their own big plays. I think if all 4 teams remain undefeated, there will be heads exploding because they didn't start the 4 team playoff earlier.
And Notre Dame gets in the championship game by default Usually has the toughest schedule of anyone and fans (money) will travel to see them play. Don
