I don't know. At times throughout the year I can see what you are saying. The BH forum actually has been pretty decent lately with a couple of exceptions. Especially the live from the stand thread.
Since I started gun hunting again this year, I would maybe join in. The only thing that would keep me from entering is having a bunch of member's family join in that aren't part of the site. Sure, they can register a name, sign up, check in and then never be heard from again. It would ruin the fun of the contest. Sure, it's great to get family involved in hunting, but don't make members of the forum that want to have a fun contest suffer.
Well management gave us a thumbs up so.... All of you THAT WILL PLAY... your ideas and input are important.. I see both sides of the family deal.... let's keep putting our thoughts like: Dates Multipliers for mulies, blacktail Minimum post count I think patterning after the bow contest on most of it should work..
What's the good side of getting nonmember family members involved? Besides "it's great to get family involved."
My input: 396 people are in the bowhunting contest with 12 members spread over 33 teams. The first year gun contest will mimic the exact number. The entry fee is $500.00. The $198,000 will be dispersed as follows: $5,000 cash to Preacher Tony for headaches. $193,000 will be held in an account until the contest is over. The money will be used by the “designated” Bowhunting.com | #1 Source for Bow Hunting and Archery Information members to purchase an even or close to 60acre parcel of hunting land. The hunting land will be surveyed and evenly split into approximately 5 acre parcels which will then be deeded to each winning member. The contest will be epic. It will be an honor just to be in the contest. Todd Graf will probably get a statue. The bowhunting.com website will gain traffic. Land will be conserved, managed and owned by the best people on the planet. The transformation of the land and the future successes of the new owners will be viewed on the forum.
Dates: Doesn't matter for anyone in Wisconsin. We only get 9 days. Saturday before Turkey day till the Sunday after Turkey day. Multipliers for mulies, blacktail: No. IMO no mutipliers Minimum post count: I'll go with 50. I would be fine with 100. I think patterning after the bow contest on most of it should work.. Yes.
