That's kinda where I'm at but I cant find an actual Mikuni or Keihin carb just he knock off junk which I hear are more trouble than they are worth and is actually whats on the bike now. Guess I'll search some more
I've actually had that happen while on a NM bear huntin trip lol. I hadn't checked it but I will tomorrow. good thought. Wasn't actually dirt dobbers but a badly clogged spark arrestor. same result though
It sounds to me like the float is sticking or out of adjustment in the carb or the needle seat needs to be replaced. I had a similar problem on a arctic cat atv about a year ago and found a broken spring on the intake valve.
Like MechDoc said, if the fuel is coming out the overflow, it sounds like the float. Used to have that problem with a carb on the 185S I had.
With the fuel coming out it sounds like a float problem. I had that on one of my Arctic Cats, it started when I was trail riding with it and it would choke out. What I did for temporary fix was only crack the gas valve open to restrict the gas flow and it ran fine until I fixed the float.
The fuel overflow was only a problem initially. After cleaning the carb it stopped. Still not getting fuel to the chamber though....
No gas to the bowl? Is the petcock open? (Gas valve... but I wanted to type petcock). Blow out the gas lines. Check screens/filter. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
If you lived closer, I'd say drive it over and we'll get her running. However, I think it would cost you more in gas to drive up here and back than buy a new carb.
Well this morning I took the carb back off AGAIN and without distraction from my onlookers of yesterday. I meticulously pulled it apart and cleaned again. The float valve was in fact still sticking and the slow jet was clogged again. I did an extremely thorough cleaning and threw it back together and wallah ... She is purring like a kitten!! Woo hoo
