Just wondering if there is any other fitness freaks on the forum. If you are one then please post on here your work out schedule and your favorite type of workout. I personally Workout 2 hours a day and run 3 miles 6 times a week. My favorite workout is doing butterflies.
recent convert here. Health freak more than fitness/muscle freak. Switched over to a nearly all fish/chicken/veggies/fruit diet recently (still have bread for sandwiches). Gave up alcohol about 7 weeks ago. Been recently starting working out twice a day. 6 am I hit the weight room. Chest/Back, Arms/Shoulders, Legs/Abs x2 with a rest day on Saturday. I then do some form of cardio daily whenever I begin to get hungry for dinner. Run 5 miles twice a week, the days in between I work in hill/stadium sprints, biking, and in colder weather I'll hit the stair master or elliptical. I avoid the treadmill like the plague as it destroys my shins. Saturdays I spend a half day doing something fun outside like hiking, biking, kayaking, etc... Trying to kick my but into shape for the Elk woods this fall.
Good Job! ^^^^ TEmbry Clear Mind = Faster Reaction Time! I am old and slow...My work keeps me in pretty good shape and I hit the incline bench to keep my core in shape. Light weights, not a runner, shoot with my full pack on and shoot quite a bit. ... IDK.
I love kettlebells, kickboxing and stuff like that! I used to be a runner. Nowadays I only run if something really scary is chasing me or if I am training for a specific thing. I did Tough Mudder in November and have only ran twice since then haha Sad! I have fallen off the wagon here recently. Only PT once or twice a week. I think y'all have shamed me into working out tomorrow though. I applaud those of you who can successfully diet. Not my thing! I would rather work out all day every day than deny myself beer or burgers! No self discipline in that area. My hubs is a wonderful cook. I think if he were as terrible of a cook as I am I would probably be at least 5 lbs lighter
I am in the gym at 530: am 5 days a week and I work one body part a day and do 30 minutes of cardio. When you are 58 years old you don't have a favorite you are just glad you can still stay in shape. Working out is a requirement if I want to continue to enjoy the same activities I did when I was younger. With that being said I enjoy all of my work outs, yes even leg day.
We've had this thread going for a while but it's losing steam. It gets a bump now & again. I've made a solid transition to leading a very fit and healthy lifestyle over the past several years. I run and do progressively difficult calisthenics. No money on equipment or gym fees. I eat pretty healthy but also don't deny myself things I truly enjoy (good beer & homemade baked goods) I'm also in the process of getting certified to be a personal trainer.
Ive been mountain biking and running every other day. Got a set of dumbells last week do to body squats on these bad weather days. Also been going on hikes with my pack 1-2 times a week. I had a dream last night I could run all the way up the walk in trail elk hunting so that's my goal. 1st of September will be here soon. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
Funny...I am starting to see ELK to. Had a dream a few weeks back where I came to full draw on a gnarly 6X6 with insane mass....Yup! To many brain cells focused on these guys but That is a Good Thing!!! Really starting to see the results of my incline bench, little at a time goes a long way. I need to spend more time on cardio but am very real about the way it is. ELK,ELK,ELK,ELK,ELK,ELK..........HaHaHaHahahaha!
I need to get back into it...trying to find the time at the moment with a baby is kinda hard. The only real time I have to work out or run is in the morning, and while I do loved working out in the mornings, it is just so hard for me to get out of bed to do it. At the moment, all I really do is run 6 miles maybe twice a week, ride my bike to work (12 miles total), and do some burpees here and there. 100 burpees in less than 10 minutes is a great quick work out. A few years ago I was consistently running 60-80 miles/week.
I'm just getting back into the gym 4 days a week. Took the last year off since we had the sick father in law, moved and I changed jobs. I love heavy weight training and have trained with several top tier power lifters and body builders over the last 20 years, but have never been a fan of six pack abs and cardio. I trained with 5 former Mr. Illinois winners and a few guys that came up in the Ernie Frantz Powerlifting gym. Now that I'm in my early 40's the wife is begging me to tone it down a bit so I might follow her wishes
I stick to lower weights with a high repetition. There's noway I could maintain the intensity necessary to be a "bodybuilder". Chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs Monday through Friday, also do cardio at least 3 days a week. Been improving my diet slowly but surely. Turkey, Chicken, and fish are my foods for lunch or dinner, along with a vegetable. Almonds or apples are my usual snack food. Drink a lot of water too.
I literally exercise so I could eat like crap. I do 30 minutes of elliptical then another 30 minutes of running everyday - 7 days a week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been into it since high school. After stopping baseball my sophomore year, I started running track and cross country. Got into college, and started lifting. Been doing it since. Got into the best shape of my life last year for the Philadelphia Tough Mudder (it was easy), only to get set back a bit with some health issues (the irony) that leave me not wanting to do my HIT or general cardio for fear of losing more weight. I've always had a problem gaining weight and this makes it a bit worse. I was lifting 4 days a week and running/HIT/biking 3 days. Now I just lift 4 days a week and hike, split wood, etc., for the time being. I think I'm finally going to get back into trail running, and when the weather warms back up I'll be back on the bike.
Man I envy you guys who have trouble putting on weight. I eat like a damn rabbit and still gain weight if I don't spend an hour a day active at the minimum.
For me, it's more a curse than a blessing. I'm fairly strong for how little I weigh, but I just want to be a normal 175lbs, and I couldn't do it even if I wanted to. Some day, when most of my friends are fat, I suppose it may switch to a blessing, but not in my prime :D
