I realize we are entering the heart of hunting season, but for those of us with some slight resemblance of a life outside of hunting (however small of a life that is lol) what do you have coming up?

I will be running my first official 5k soon, hoping to then do a 10k in a few months. I could likely do a 10k now but don't want to push my shin splints too bad just yet.

I'll find out my rotation schedule for next year in a few months. I'll likely be a nomad spending six weeks at a time in Montana, Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, New Mexico, and one international missionary trip. My truck should get plenty of miles on that trip for sure. Speaking of which, I finally pulled the trigger on the Tacoma I have threatened to get for the past few years. Found a steal on one from a dealer outside of Boston, so wired the money and arranged a transporter to bring it to Kentucky for me to drive up from Birmingham to title it. Headaches aside, it was certainly worth it. 2013 "Used" because of 5k on the odo, but it was about $6-7k off new pricing. This will be the final vehicle for several years to come now, atleast through residency.

Tuscaloosa during the weekend LSU visits will most certainly be in my future in a few weeks as well.

Sold my house last week, waiting for home inspection and closing which should be 10/31. Will be moving to IL the week of 11/1 if all goes as planned.

Will also be heading out to IL the week of 9/30, I get the keys to the new office on 10/1 and will be getting things going and settled. We already have two guys we have moved from NY, and one guy that we hired out there...........I'll be the fourth guy and I've got three more guys to hire between now and end of year.

I have a house picked out I'm hoping will still be available when I get out there the week of 9/30. Based on what I've seen of it online, if it's still available I'll definitely be putting a deposit on it. It's 2k sq/ft, has exposed beam structure inside, and has 40 acres of farm ground with a bit of woods and creek bottom on it, and also a heated pole barn with storage for several cars and a specific boat storage area. Pretty hard to find anything like this in the Chicago suburbs, so I'm hoping it's still available when I get out there. If it's anything like the pictures and still there I'll be putting a deposit on it for sure.

I haven't even sighted in my bow yet. I have a brand new Experience with everything setup on it and an initial tune, but still need to sight it in. I don't know if/where I'll be able to hunt this year. I suspect I'll get out in NY and may even travel from IL to NY to hunt this year as I'm not sure I want to spend $500 to hunt from mid november till end of season as a NR in IL. I'm probably the only guy that will ever travel from IL to NY to go hunting.

With all the stress of a new position at work, moving, selling the house, and a new kiddo........I've been doing a bit of fishing lately to blow off a bit of steam. I can only get about a half day in on weekends so that there is still time to hang with my boy the rest of the weekend. I've been clobbering the big fish lately. Caught a 6lb-1oz fish last weekend and have caught 5lb+ fish almost every single outing.

I haven't been in 12 years or more, but I'd like to return some day.... just hopefully no time soon as I likely won't return until I have children or a wife. haha

What a pig. That's one thing I always wished I could do better. I am strong in my belief that I am the world's worst fisherman lol.

    Nice truck T.

I moved to Utah. I have driven back and forth between il and ut 8 times in the past several months. It was an adventure.

Most of my future plans involve hunting/shooting/trapping. I guess I'm boring that way. :D

    Awesome truck, Trevor.

I'm obviously focusing around hunting as it's a mere two weeks away. Have plans to hit up the Bloomsburg fair again Ina week or so, maybe an apple and cheese festival with the wife. I've also begun looking for land again, and while it's not going so well in the early stages, it's always exciting as to what I might get lucky on.

RJ, you found a house and 40 acres out there? Man, you will never move now:D

Hook sometimes having an excuse to sit around every now and then sounds appealing to me. I never really relax since I always think of the things I need to get done.

Yeah it can be nice. Every other Saturday are my days with the baby, which isn't so bad this time of year. I just hang out with my daughter and watch college football. It's nice having an excuse to be lazy.

Impressive, that would be my ultimate goal.... but after battling shin splits for going on a year now, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to work up to enduring that long of a distance. My shins give out far before my lungs already, and I'm only running 3-5 miles at a time with a few days in between.

Ski season is just around the corner. Should get about 40 days in for the season. I like hunting, but skiing is still my favorite.

We purchased a new home and close on Thursday, hoping it is closer to Rick James and his 40 acres so I can stop over to site in my bow:) We are still trying to sell our house but might end up renting it so I am getting ready to be a slum lord. I will also be starting a new job at work in a week that will have 30-35 people reporting to me so work and moving will leave me little time to hunt this year.
