Hey guys I am looking at possibly switching bows, I have a buddy who isn't using his compound anymore and its a Bowtech Carbon Knight I think. I shoot a PSE Drive LT right now and am just looking for some second, probably more knowledgable opinions.
I shoot a BT but it has Barnesdale limbs. I can not recommend a straight BT bow due to the limb issues that have not been corrected.
I shoot a bowtech boss and I have had delaminated limbs as well. I love my bow due to my long draw, but that is the price you pay when you make the switch to bowtech. They say the newer bows will not have an issue. I would just talk with your local archery dealer and see what they recommend and talk about the limb failure problems with bowtech.
I shoot bowtech btx. No issues, started with the tomkat, then bought a used admiral. No problems with any of them all bowtech models. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I shoot a bt carbon knight over all its a pretty good bow, my cam channels had some machining burrs in them and they chewed up my cables. It was a pain but bt did replace cams. The bow itself is plenty fast and can be made reasonably quite, it is light and the bow doesnt freeze your hands when its cold because it isnt aluminum
The last few weeks there is a new "My Bowtech limb broke today" thread nearly every day (as more people start shooting their bow for hunting season) on Archery Talk. I would never buy one.
If you are going to get a new bow I would get one that is a better bow than your current one The drive is a very good bow unless he is giving you the bow I wouldn't bother. If you are looking to spend some money and you have lower end accessories I would upgrade your stabilizer, sight, and rest
I shoot a diamond dead eye (made by bowtech) and love it. Especially the speed. Bought in 2012 and still on original string/cable.
I shoot the carbon icon which is the newer version of the Knight. I like it a lot, it’s light, relatively fast and quiet. I’ve had no issues with it after several thousand shots Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have an Assassin and an RPM 360, and I have not had any limb issues. Both shoot great. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I have owned a number of Bowtechs since the company started. To the day, no limb issues at all. I still have a General and a Specialist.
I own 5 bowtechs from a guardian to a 360. I have put thousands of shots through them all and I haven’t had any problems except....anything I shoot at dies Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yep. I shot a Carbon Knight for 2 years when I started bow hunting in 2014. Great bow. Quiet, light and durable. I paid $550 for the bare bow and it was fantastic. Only upgraded to the BTX because I had the money and wanted something new.
I’ve got Reign 6. I really like it. But I only got because I didn’t have a Bowtech hanging from my ceiling yet. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I envy all you that can still shoot a compound as failed hand and shoulder surgeries have after over 50+ plus years of stretching strings and slinging sticks redelelagated me to the ranks of the xbow hunters. I started bow hunting at 8 years old and there's no way in hell I'm done yet. I'm still in the woods and have three deer as well as several hogs down this year so far. I sure do miss using my Bear Attack... it's now just a dust collector, holding a lot of memories. As far as Botech goes I had a diamond marque ( Botech product) as my backup bow for many years and eventually sold it for new price. No problems with it ever. It was a truly great bow.
