I was goose hunting with some guys and a guy that came along so happens to have a Mathews that he is willing to let me have for $300. He reckons its 5 or 6 years old but in near perfect shape.
Its at my draw length already and has arrows, case, broad heads, sights, stabilizer, etc...
    Going to see it tomorrow.!
Anything i should look out for - aka are there any "bad" mathews bows?

Take a good look at it, take some pics and post them if you can. I would tell you there are not really any bad bows made in that time frame...if the bow in question is a shooter for "you" and you only. Could be a lower end Mathews bow that could be had at that price now, with the exception it would be 1 or 2 years old.

will try and get the photo - the other problem is another guy hunting with us knew the bow and said hey if he doesn't take it I will take it for sure. The guy selling it just got a new mathews a very expensive one. Geese came in and our conversation got cut short !

    lol...
I am going to see it at 3:30 EST so I will report back this evening.
The guy is super cool - knows I am new to bow hunting and really trying to make sure I get everything I need (except a tree stand).
So will report back. I can't wait for 3:30.~!

About the only bad Mathews bow that Ive heard about was the Monster, when it first came out. The problem was with the split limbs, they were not always matched causing cam lean and ultimately catastrophic failure. The string would not align back up with the track. Im not really sure on the bows from 5-6 years ago.

OK guys - here is the bow.
It comes with the hard plano case, two sights (one is older and off the bow and the one on the bow 3 pins and lighted), trigger release, all the arrows you see the ones in the quiver have broadheads.
The bow itself just says solocam i dont see any other info.
The guy i got it from is going to give me some peep sights for it as well - he doesn't like them.

My dad said that they work well for him and they take away the peep which makes it more accurate i guess...but its your preference....try them both out
