Need recommendations on broadhead targets - best bang for the buck I guess  ...compact/portable a plus.

Haven't shot field points in over 2 years now - pretty much would be shooting Muzzy practice blades into target - in the past have used a homemade target - was free, but hard to remove arrows though...

    Thanks...

The Morrell Yellow Jacket is a really good broadhead target at a decent price. You definatly wouldn't have issues with removing arrows, it is nice and smooth.

The rinehart 18:1 is one of the best, most durable BH targets out there and you can, if you ever wanted too, shoot FP's into it also. You are not supposed to shoot FP's into the yellow jacket.

I agree that the Yellow Jacket is a 1 season target. I bought a few years back and between myself and my two hunting buddies, we had it destroyed in under two months.

We've had pretty good success with the Morrell Yellow Jacket, but if you're going to shoot tons and tons with your broadheads, it may not be the way to go. Overall though, Morrell makes quality targets and I would recommend them to anyone

Jeff, this has nothing to do with your compound bow and EVERYTHING to do with the new recurve, correct?!? :d :deer:

    Back to targets....

As far as choices, you have many. I know for certain I wouldn't go with anything with an open layered design again. I pretty much destroyed my Block 4 X 4 in less than a few months. For broadheads I went with a cheap Gander Mtn Broadhead Specific target, much like the Morrell YellowJacket. It is still shootable, but it still isn't the best out there as far as targets are concerned. It was great move for $35 though.

The next target I am going to purchase will be the Rinehart 18-1. I was able to see first hand how well this thing will hold up to broadhead abuse this past weekend. One side had been slivered up by an assault of broadheads but the beauty was, you still have roughly 17 sides left to shoot at. It is also a great target for mixed use (FP and BH), unlike any broadhead specific targets.

I also have the Morrel Yellow Jacket. I've gotten more than one season out of it, but it won't last past this second season, that's for sure. I don't shoot BH's too awful much, but the Rinehart looks very tempting, and other than the size (like Jeff mentioned), it looks to be a great option.

I was not impressed by hte Yellow Jacket. However I did find no issues at all shooting FP's into it. Stopped easy, removed easy. For HEAVY broadhead shooting, I'm going to be using the cheapest thing I can find as they all get shredded.

For all around shooting, FP's with some broadheads, you can't beat the 18 in 1. It is the best target I've ever seen.
