I went to check my Cameras today, and one of them was full of Ants and it appears to be dead. I know I've seen posts in here before on some of the remedies people used to try and get their cameras to work again, but I can't remember what they were. I was thinking of putting the camera in a ziplock bag and putting it in the freezer for a day. Will this hurt the camera ? I mean I've had them out in below zero temps. with no issues. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

I've used a dryer sheet before and it's worked great for me in the past. Let it sit for a couple days and they ants should be dead.

My one old Moultrie was loaded with ants in the battery compartment last weekend. This wasn't the first time it was loaded either. Hasn't affected the camera to this point though.

I have had it happen a couple of times although it never actually killed the camera. I took a wash cloth and sprayed it with raid and then put the rag and camera in a plastic bag. It definately killed all of them. You will have to let it air out for a few days after but it works fo sure.

I have this happen a lot. I put them inbthe freezer without batterys for a week. Then try new batts. I also by those little ant traps at walmart that are cheap. They are for outside your house. Theyre small and stick in the ground. I place them at the bottom of the tree that my camera is on. Kills those suckers before they ever get to camera. I think they're like 4 dollars for 8 traps. And they don't smell. Try that.

My old moultrie i40 got some ants in it. I put it in the freezer for a few days, took it apart and blew it out with that computer keyboard air cleaner stuff in a can. Then sprayed some 'off' in there. Havent had a issue since.

Well I took my camera out of the freezer this morning, put some new batteries in and tried it. It lights up when I turn it on, but doesn't take any pics. I took it apart and blew it out, same result. I think it's toast. I still have 5 others, but this sucks. Damn ants.

Actually it's one of the CA 3.0 Covert cameras that has the plug in viewer. When I plug it in the screen on the viewer lights up, but nothing shows up.

I would try one last thing. Get some distilled water and rinse out the camera, inside as well. As clean as you can get it. Then let it dry for awhile. I don't know what processor they use, but many of the smt ones can be stopped from operation by some pretty tiny debris.
