about two weeks ago one of my bosses came to me talking of some big buck in his front yard! i was like yeah right, it still has its antlers????? he insisted and i backed off for fear of getting fired!

low and behold yesterday i saw a perfect 8 point step out of the woods..... what the heck is with that??? i thought they all would have dropped by now????

I've seen elk with antlers in April so I guess it could be the same for whitetails.

Some racks will hang until the new growth pushes them off which I would think would be happening however, other factors could be at play here also. Hypothetically the buck could have injured his testicles and not drop at all. When it comes to nature, there are never any absolutes.

Certainly possible.... I was at the zoo last weekend with my daughter and noticed that one of the caribou had an antler on it's head yet and another had 4 inches of velvet coming out already....

It's all about food sources, genetics, type of winter and over all health of the deer. Ya just never know. Maybe it will give some of us shed hunters who have been slow in the game this year some hope. Good luck everyone!
