Never saw this before. After bow shot, this whitetail buck lost its antlers. This was at the very end of the season.Antlers fall off right after Bow Shot! MUST SEE ! AMAZING VIDEO ! - YouTube
Glad someone else mentioned that. Looks like it got Liver or something, the deer did die pretty quick though so maybe the way he was laying relaxed he caught back of lungs. Definitely looked way back though
That's pretty crazy to see that. I'm sure it doesn't happen very often but if it were to happen to you how would you tag it. In Ohio we are only allowed 1 buck tag. You can tag a buck as antlerless only if it is a shed buck or the antlers aren't over 3 inches. (I believe that's the length) I know this law is put in place for honest mistakes thinking you are actually shooting a doe. I'm not sure what the actual law is in this instance, but would you morally be able to tag this as a shed buck and try to kill another one when you knew that it was a buck before the shot? Or would you consider your buck tag filled.
Because why wouldn't you take a 45 yard shot at a bedded deer. Oh, I know, it was the last day of season.
