Awesome, congrats CJ! Don't forget to take the two pictures and post to the scoreboard (with date and time of kill)!

Was the shot as good as you thought. Must have been pretty good to not go more than 80. Maybe the BH had a slight failure. Anyway congrats on finding it CJ!

CJ, was it hard to row back with a deer on the kayak? My luck I'd tip us all over by not having weight evenly spread. Must admit, that's pretty awesome though hauling it like that!

Don't forget the pictures need you in it on the official scoreboard (Sorry, just doin' my captain duties).

I hung all our clothes on the porch the other day - well, it rained so hard (&blew in) that everything got soaked. Crap.

I can't believe the day is finally here. I'm planning on sneaking in tomorrow morning. Have about a 20 min hike up a very steep hill then sitting in my stand located on a very heavy trail. I've had 4 photos of Harvey, my #1 hitlister, using this trail at night in the past 2 weeks. It's going to be cool so I'm hoping for some magic to happen. Hope everybody else is gearing up and getting ready to go. It's Go Time!!

Good luck Garet! He's a stud for sure.

Tomorrow morning I have t-ball practice with my son and then have some errands to run - aka buying stuff for new baby. And it's supposed to be raining in the morning so my opening day won't actually start until the afternoon. I plan on filming my buddy try to kill one of the big boys he's after since the weather and wind will be right. No idea if he'll show or not but it's worth a try!

Sunday I plan on hunting both AM and PM. I have no idea where I'm going or what deer I'll be after, but you can kill them if you're not out there. If I get a clean shot at a doe I'll probably take it. The freezer is void of backstraps and my grill is hungry.

Hey everybody. I haven't been very active on here lately. I've been working some crazy hours and just haven't had the time or energy. I'm hoping to start being more active now that things are slowing down though. Oh, and congratulations CJ!

Unfortunately, I haven't had as much off-season/pre-seaon time to devote this year, but I'm still optimistic. I'm all geared up and ready to go for the Illinois opener in the morning. Feels a bit like Christmas Eve! I'll be sitting somewhat near an oak that has a decent acorn crop this year, with corn about 25 yards behind me and surrounding 3/5 of the timber, and an alfalfa field about 15 yards to my right (I shoot left-handed so I prefer shots to my right over my left.) Hoping to catch a nice doe snacking on some acorns in the morning on her way back to bed. Either way, good luck to all that are opening their season tomorrow!

Shot a nice doe at 7:05 this morning. Just found her about 50 yards from stand. Will upload pics later.

Awesome united! I got in stand at 5:20 and I'm certain that ten min later my big buck walked right under me. Lot of white! But since then I've had 4 doe. Not pulling the trigger on them until I go back home and can use a land owners tag.
