I'll be in the tree this afternoon waiting on the ten pointer or something comparable to make a deadly mistake. We have temps that are right, and hoping the wind will be right. Good luck to all that are chasing bucks! Shoot straight and be safe!
Hey fellas, I know I'm not real vocal but haven't forgotten about ya's, dropped by to bring you 50 points. Dropped a big doe, no milk, no fawns at 42 yards, she went 60. Will have posted to score card as soon as possible. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Had some action this morning...saw a couple does and fawns about crapped my pants its all quiet and then the fawns and one doe come busting out of the hemlocks running around playing and chasing each other! On this cold morning it helped get the blood flowing! I'll be back out in a different spot (wind shift) this afternoon!
Maybe someday, when I can afford to buy a camera. I just wanna shoot a nice buck first, haven't shot anything over a 100 inches yet. One thing at a time!
Getting out this coming weekend a few times with my boy. Then starting November 1st I am off work and hunting for 6 days straight!
Yes they allocate a certain number for each wildlife management zone in mass (each person gets one doe tag if they are picked except for the worcester/boston metro area, they have surplus tags to lower deer/vehicle collisions)... I was not planning on shooting does at that particular stand/hunting area this year. Hoping to put one down in one of my two other hunting locations.
What a morning! Had 6 deer come in all hung around with 120yrds of my stand for almost two hours! Could of shot a 4 pointer and a doe a couple times but no doe tag for the zone I was hunting. One doe was definitely in heat she did two big laps around the area grunting/bleating the whole time! Couple fawns were running around playing as well. Back out this afternoon!
I only have one weekend left to hunt in my season. It ends Halloween weekend but the kids want me home for trick or treating and we have friends coming over so this weekend will be my last. Although we have a new lead in our area. Found a farmer across the road who has about 100 bails of alfalfa hanging out in his yard unprotected. Just need to figure out how the deer are traveling to and from the feed. We know they are there since we can't plant any sort of "legal" food plots in CA. Unless it's marijuana, that's legal. And yes the deer eat the leaves. Not sure about the "buds" but they eat the leaves. The fences are nearly 12' tall around the "crops". Good luck everyone!
Sorry I've been away for a while. Ive had a slow deer season, usually have a few down by now. I'm headed to Ohio next week to hunt with Urban Buckeye Outfitters and he's got a lot of nice bucks walking around so I'm hoping to get one there! Good luck to everyone else and shoot straight!
Well gents my season will end this weekend without any hunting. Truck is down and kids want me for trick or treating. Wishing everyone a great Halloween and happy hunting! Good luck!
