Well fellas, this time of the year I would normally be getting ready for the season to open but with all the renovations and moving I've been doing, I've got no time right now. My gear is still packed up and needs to be organized, camo needs to be washed and I need to get to practicing some shooting. The season opens two weeks from this Saturday so unless the weather is looking perfect, I doubt I'll be out for a few more weeks at least. What's everyone else's plan for this year?
I usually hunt public parks and public land. I missed the deadline for the parks, so now I am going to focus on the two public land spots. The main spot I hunt is one deer only this year (either sex) and I usually spend the first month (season starts 9-19) hunting with my 6 year old son. I don't know that I could pass up shooting a doe when he is with me, so I am scrambling for a spot to hunt that allows extra does. I have November 1st-6th blocked off for dark to dark big buck hunting. Gun season opens on the 7th, so it is my best chance to get something. Anybody have any good bucks on their hitlist?
Was able to get 2 hunts in this week, our season started Aug. 15th, had a small 8 within 10 yards last night but nothing worth shooting. I have a few bucks that I've picked out already so i will try to hold out for them. I hunt in the low country of South Carolina on a little over 1000 acres with a few smaller tracts around the same area. hope to help the team out this year and hope to share some footage with you guys! heres one that id like to get an arrow in!
