I just harvested my first Elk yesterday and I want to do an antler mount. Do I cut the skull plate and leave the antlers attached or do I just cut off the antlers? This is my first DIY mount. Any advice?

Leave the antlers attached to the skull. Let the skull dry for a while before you attempt to mount them.

You should leave the antlers on the skull plate. Giving them time to dry out before you cut them out of the skull to mount on a plack.
