In the light of the other "Would you take this shot?" I propose another...."Would you take THIS shot???" (See link below and click on the ELK video) Quite honestly, I think NAP should remove the video as it shows what appears to be PURE GUTS on the shot near as I can tell..... http://cutsnomatterwhat.com/index2.htm Your thoughts.......
Been a while since I've viewed those videos. I just watched the elk one again. I don't know. As far as NAP removing it. It wouldn't bother me either way I guess.
I've seen alot worse shots than that on TV. As long as they wait long enough, i'm sure it was a lethal hit. **** happens you know
I have seen alot of bad shots, if thats the case, you have to let that animal lay for awhile, otherwise it will be a long recovery or may never find him.
My point is....They could have been a little more selective with the shot they chose!!!!" Are they trying to be "Rage" and "Expand the KILL ZONE???" There was a big ado about a frontal shot which I agree, didn't look like the greatest shot on an elk, but it looked better than this QUARTER-TO pure guts shot that some lady shooting 40#'s took. Seems that because it was a LADY shooting the backlash is lessened.
I was going to say they should have waited but it looks as if the elk spotted them so she probably got nervous and took the shot. It looks iffy but I'm no expert. As far as NAP keeping or removing the video....IMO this video will only HELP their case as far as selling their broadheads.
looked like it got a little of 1 lung to me, i don't care what they show "bad shots" happen keep it real i say!!
I actually had a good conversation with a friend about this subject, today. While I'm nowhere near an Obama fan, I will use something he said that's pertinent to this type conversation.... Nobody's questioning whether the shots are legal or not. We're questioning whether it's a good idea to take/broadcast them. You won't catch me passing judgement on the hunter for taking these type shots. But, broadcasting them is bad form (IMO).
Well said. Sort of where I was going with it when I posted it. And while the attack dogs will go after one bad shot, another far less criticized. I suppose I'm just digging up stuff because I'm more than a little depressed just a few days after mailing back my elk tag......
I would have waited a tad bit longer as for broadcasting the shot I think it helps then prove there point but they do not tell you how long the track job was.
The shot selection honestly isn't bad. They shot when they needed to. They just botched the shot. A gut shot shouldn't be broadcasted and celebrated IMO. Poor taste. When I make a bad shot, I feel like someone let the air out of me, I'm definately not fist pumping.
Quarter-to on an elk using a low poundage set up??? Not an overly good selection near as I can tell. End result, they had a dead elk, but I agree, it seems in POOR TASTE to show the video. Alas, however, Finch may be right, it may have been used purposefully to lure potential customers.
here ya go man just so you can have a disscussion i think a quartering towards you shot with a low poundage bow is a lethal and ethical shot and NAP should be promoting more shots like that im just kidding the shot was a little back but everyone makes mistakes and as far as NAP taking the video out, they shouldnt it shows that with there broadheads even if the hunter makes a mistake on the shot it can still be lethal and also shows that the broadhead gets penetration with a low poundage bow on one of the toughest animals i know to hunt
Maybe she did the right thing, that Big Broadhead hitting a rib solid on, at her draw weight, maybe she'd have been more likely to wound, but put it CLEAN into the guts, and you get a pass-through or at least a little better penetration.......
Didn't even watch the video........I figured, if ya gotta ask its a big fat NO in my book and I don't even wanna see it! LOL!
