I have access to pretty much all the land in the picture. The farm fields were planted with wheat and has already been harvested. Thanks for any help. and yes I'm terrible with computers and posting pictures so sorry if it's a bad one.
It was a small field that was clear cut years ago when a rifle stand was built in front of it but has since been overgrown with brush and little trees.
Any deer trails in that middle left area? Without being on the ground, and just looking at a picture, I'd put my money on being on the middle left or middle where those cluster of trees are. I don't know if the deer walk through the open field, or if they stick to walking the edge. I'd definitely scout for deer trails and then make a decision off that.
That's kinda what I was thinking as well. I'd like to be able to enter the woods from the bottom of the upper wheat field and hopefully not have to walk too far into the woods. I figure the further in I go the better chance I have at spooking something.
In addition to what has already been mentioned; in the bottom field, I would put a stand or blind close to where the two rows of trees meet, preferably in the shadows and that would allow you to watch all three sides of the field. I would think this would be a great late season spot if the deer are coming into the field to feed.
Yeah, you definitely want to have at least 2 stand locations on this property on either side of wherever they bed down so you can play the wind. I'm not sure where the bedding is, but I would find it, and setup a stand between it and each field, then play the wind to your advantage.
