I pulled these from google maps. If anyone knows where I can get a better map I'm all ears. I got a pic of a good buck (several actually), and I'd like to hear what anyone has to say about where I should set up, bedding, etc.

Green depicts the property I have permission too. The one dot is where my camera was.

NC, those maps are about as good as you are gonna get...and your hunting spot looks fantastic! Good luck getting on that buck.

What time of day did your camera pick up that buck? 1 hour before sunset?

Actually I've got them coming through just after midnight which I found strange being it's next to a huge bean field. That hillside is littered with oaks, but I just don't know where the deer are bedding and such.

Looks like most of the topography is off of the lands you have access too. I see one potential bedding site on your land and a couple potentially good bedding sites off of your land as well.

If you've got time can you depict on my map what you mean by bench and saddle?

    Here's what I'm seeing....
Obviously, the most terrain lays to the EAST, spot 1 may be a potential to pick deer up moving from the neighboring property to yours, coming to or from the bedding area in the NE corner of the map. I believe that house/building area is gonna keep 'em close other steep part of the hill and bring right into where I put spot 1. (potentially)

Spot 2 may also be a pinch point for the neighbors deer, and the deer on your place if that bench area is a bedding area, assuming the prevalent wind blow from the southwest, it may have some potential, but may be hard to sneak into. If you can sneak into it though, and that IS a bedding area, you may be on the money. (potentially) IF that blackened area directly on the hilltop is a bedding area, this spot would be risky at best though.

If you see ANYTYHING coming from the area to the west half of the map, I'm willing to bet a stand somewhere in the vicinity of the GREEN DOT almost in the center of the map would have some potential. Deer don't ALWAY bed FURTHEST from areas of human activity, and there appears to be water over there nearby!!!!

Going with the above thoughts (water and human activity may not be a deterrrent), the BLUE dot to the south #4 would potentially be another spot you may catch something. Food, water, a little bit of cover, and some terrain that may funnel them over to the west, and I think you may have a potential spot there as well.

Blue 5 and 6 may be good potential spots in the evening if they are feeding in that bean field at dusk, and there are oaks on that hillside, I can see either of those spots holding some potential.

BLACK SCRIBBLES are potential bedding areas, GREEN scribbles are saddles.....

That would be my rough assessment without KNOWING only what I've picked up on this thread. Walking that land NOW and again about 2wks from opening day, having a better assessment helps guide what I would do on opening morning.

That being said, I've passed every buck I've seen in the last 4yrs. because I just can't find that "shooter" in my areas. I've also lost 4 good properties in the last 5-6yrs. as well. :(

    Thanks guys.

Jeff actually this place is right behind my house. Here's the guy I got on cam. I had him at 42 yards last year for a split second.

This place has cover, water (just over the boundarie lines) and food. There's alot of pressure from the backside and as far as I know I'm the only one with permission to hunt the finger end of the Mountain. This Mountain and the one across the road generally always produce big (relative) deer.
