Set up an IR trail cam looking right at your stand from a nearby tree. That, or booby-trap the s%*t out of your stand. My friend that still hunts the same state land in west Michigan started doing that a few years back. I'd feel terrible if I found someone dead under one of my stands, but after losing as many as he and I have, I understand where hes coming from. I'd never do it though...
Had a set of LW sticks and Gorilla hang on stolen a few years back - sucks for sure - especially when you don't find out until your wanting to hunt it.... Hope you catch the scum bags!
That absolutely makes me sick! I have been hunting for 27 years now and have come across dozens upon dozens of other hunters treestands and wouldn't EVER think of stealing one. What the hell is wrong with people. Don't you just wish you could have actually caught the SOB in the act. I put three hang-ons up a few years back on a new farm I received permission to hunt to arrive one morning to ALL THREE GONE!! I swear I was so enraged I think I would have actually shot the scum bag if I had caught him. I hear you about it's just the principle and having a 5 year old daughter myself, that's what would have bugged me too. Don't worry though, pond scum usually gets what's coming to them. Just to bad you won't be there to actually enjoy it! Keep your head up and there are still a few honest people in the woods these days. Just not as many as there aught to be. F**kers
