You know.. at one time in my life I wouldn't have wished bodily harm either.. but when you've had enough stuff stolen from you they deserve everything they get.... steal from the mouth of my family and I hope you fall to your death in agony.

As for the cheap stands... I have them guys... all over... but when you have a kid one day you realize you don't want to spend anymore money on hunting... so you use whatever you have left without having to purchase something again.

Whether its a $65 stand or a $165 stand.. you're pissed when it happens... cause it has happened to me either way.

And like Greg said... pulling the first 2 sticks doesn't do a thing.

Pat... the stand was locked with a pretty good cable... a hunter would have had to bring a cable-cutter to get this stand down... and since I only have 2 neighbors... and this stand was 1/2 a mile in from each... it tells me they knew the stand was there first.. and later went back with the cutters.

I'm not gonna play nice on this one.

Everyone who knows me knows of my discontent of hunters.

I've made it no secret over the years.

Quit leaving my own stuff in my own woods??

Maybe many hunters should stop being a bunch of pussies instead.

I feel your pain brother. I used to hunt state land when I lived in Michigan, and in 5 years, I had 6 locked locked stolen. That's why I'm so nervous about leaving my new trail cam out too.

Fact is, if somebody wants it, they're going to get it, whether you lock it or take your steps out, or whatever. There's not a more deflating feeling than walking in to your tree in the dark, only to find a cut cable laying at the base of your tree. Why bother even looking up to check.

Yeah It Is but It's also reality guys. There's pukes all over these days. I won't leave stands In the public land here where I deer hunt as It gets pounded by hunters but I do leave my stands up where we bear hunt being most wouldn't venture In a bear woods a 1/2 mile like we do.

Again, sorry to hear of this Mike. Would love to assist you In catching the bastard.

It sucks, but this website is as far from the norm as you can get when it comes to the mindset of most hunters. There is a thread on GON (Georgia Outdoor News, our biggest state magazine and forum) right now called "Who has almost shot someone". If you get a chance take a gander at that one...I know all my ramblings do not make a hill of beans and i am very sorry to hear of your loss, but nothing suprises me at all when it comes to hunters.

Had my first stand ever stolen this year. $50 lock on from ****'s I cared so little about I wouldn't even waste the energy to climb up and get it. The D-bags even stole 3 or 4 of my treesteps.

That dude's life must REALLY suck to go through that much effort for $50 worth of crap.............funny/sad part is my best friend and I are the only guys with permission to hunt this farm.

    Tresspassers AND thieves.

Hunting attracts some of the biggest low lifes on earth.

That sucks. It amazes me that as much as this **** happens, you never hear about people being caught while stealing stands.

whats crazy is that more than likely it was another hunter! then they go around and act like they are honest and moral its crazy. my father-in-law runs around with a "notorious poacher" who's been caught many times, i dont hunt with him or even acknowledge that he's even in the shop, refused his hand shake b/c of principiles plus thought some of his slime might get on me! hunting is supposed to be relaxing & exhilirating not constant worry about some lazy piece of $h!t stealing something you worked so hard for! Duke, I didnt mean it the way it sounded and apologize. you are absolutely right!

Dude, this is ridiculous. Operation Find the Trespassers must be put into full effect. This isn't the first stand stolen from this property, correct? (Not yours persay, but stand in general)

No its not. Another friend who once hunted the property had one stolen a few years back.

Its either the neighbors to the south (which I'm on a mission to find out) or the lowest form of hunter on earth... coon hunters.

No one single species of hunters I know trespass and steal more than they.

Unfortunately I had out 2 trailcams and neither captured any thieves... only whitetail.

So we've got two stands now and for sure a couple sheds and a dead head. My bet would other whtietail hunters, although I do agree w/the possibility of coon hunters as well. The crazy part is that they either had tools on them when they found the stand, or left and then came back later for it. Still unbelievable. I'm pissed and it wasn't even my stand.

I believe the dead head is a seperate issue. Trespassing shed hunters are a whole 'nother breed. We both know that.

But yes.. I believe they came back to get the treestand later after grabbing essential tools needed.

Either way.. I intend on seeking revenge this spring.
