Well this story is one of the more odd hunting events I have had in awhile. It all started with me having an extra hour and a half from the time I was done with work to the time I had to pick my daughter up from daycare. I have been wanting to move the new trail camera that I have just purchased right here from bh.com. I figured I would have enough time to slip in and out of the area. As I headed out my grandfather asked me why the h$!! are you taking your bow? I told him I was going to shoot a deer today when I was back there, just kinda joking around. He just laughed. As I took the camera off the tree and started walking the direction I had to go, my phone went off, it was a buddy sending me trail cam pictures. Right as I stopped I heard that nice sound of a branch breaking, there she was, getting ready to walk right in front of me at 22 yrds. The arrow found its mark. She only made it 70yds. A very short hunt, but another deer in the freezer.
If I was prepared like you were for that doe, I would have had my first turkey kill this past week. Not thinking I would get anything walking to my spot, I walked right up on a big gobbler at 20 yards, but my release was in my pack on my back, stuffed in my treestand! Way to always be ready!! Sal
