This is the only pic I have of this buck. It was taken in my parent's back yard. This is Northern MN, if that helps with anything...
I would say at least 4 1/2 yrs old. He has a roman nose, a full neck, even that late in the year and seems to have held his body weight quite well, all those things thrown together tells me he held his own peice of property and didn't have to run much. Also he isn't broken up at all, no scares, saggy belly no doubt to he is mature.
Not totally familiar w/ MN deer, but around here, he'd be a 5+ yr old deer w/ that body, and that looks to be around a 145" rack any day of the week!!! I hope you can make friends w/ him next year!!!
I'm hoping the same thing! Made friends with what we believe to be his dad 3 gun seasons ago. He field dressed at 253 lbs and measured out at 152"... biggest buck I'd ever seen with my own eyes. I put him at 4 1/2 and between 140 and 150. The pic doesn't do his mass justice. There's a couple other bruisers that have taller and a little wider racks, but don't have his body running around up there as well. Our herd is looking better and better the past few years.
I can't make my mind up If he's a 3.5 or 4.5. He's fairly heavy with his mass on his beams but to me his body doesn't scream 4.5. I don't know. If he's a 3.5 he's a damn good one!! If he's a 4.5 he's still a good one. I'll go with a 145 Inches of rack just because he's a 10 point. He's allot like my 143 Inch 8 point with his frame and tine length.
Believe me, the maximum effort will be made to do just that!!!! OH, and here's a closeup of the one we think was his daddy... so if he does make it another year or two, it may not be so terrible.
