I have 70 lbs limbs, and my limbs are maxed out and i only get 55lbs out of the bow. I was talking to the guy at the proshop and he suggested new strings (which i was considering anyway). My question is...is the string my problem...or is there something else that could be causing my lack of draw weight?
I just saw that you live near Duluth. I moved from Duluth to Ely 1.5 yrs ago. Is Charlstrom's your pro shop?
Yeah,Chalstoms is my proshop. It's a good place, and i like the people that work there so far. Been very helpful!! Also...I have a Fred Bear Tracker Bow.
I honestly don't know. I bought the bow used. But it's in great condition if that means anything. I've never really looked to see if there is a "build" date on it. But I'll check that, a little later.
LOL...that means i have to find a camera...take out my bow...take the picture...upload it...then post it. Hrmmm....sounds like fun. My Twins are losing anyway!
Any more thoughts on my problem, before i head to the proshop tommorow? Thanks for everything already.
15 pounds is a lot to be off even if the cables have elongated, and it's the cable that controls the weight more than the string. Make sure that the previous owner didn't install the wrong cable or string. Get the Axle to Axle (ATA) length and brace height back to factory specification for that bow and the weight should come back also. I see some pretty good frays in the string so it should definitely be replaced and they should be replaced as a set so get a new cable while you're at it. Good Luck!
Walmart Fred bear tracker. Chances are your limbs have lost some Umph! SHould still shoot fine, as long as they are not cracked and waht not, Just make sure you get that sting and cables replaced!!
