How do you know what your draw weight is?? I understand how to change it.. but not sure how to tell if it's at 60 or 61, 62 etc.

Well.....you can take an educated guess by looking, but it's not very accurate. If you have a 60# max bow, if the limb bolts are bottmed out you're set at probably 62 or 63 pounds. And 1 full turn of the limb bolts is about 3 lbs.....so if you bottom the bolts out and take off 2 complete turns, you're gonna be set at about 57 or 58 lbs......

To know FOR SURE you need a bow scale.

Ok, sounds like a bow scale might be the route for me. Over time I've realized just how much I've been getting ripped off at the shop. They don't sell a bow for under $900, got an octane hostage pro for $100... but, when you live on an island you gotta take what you can get! Thanks for the responses.

DANG! Isn't it cheaper to order stuff, even after shipping charges?

Ya, it really is. It took some time to realize that. Thanks to everyone here at bowhunting.com, I can understand quality equipment and find the right places to purchase it. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate this site and the helpful people here, not only for the knowledge, but also showing me how to keep my wallet fat.

E-Bay and the internet have been a blessing for me. The local "Pro Shop" is run by a bunch of snobbish, uninformed Hill Billies (Hey, I resemble that remark! The Hill Billy part.). If you don't want to spend a grand, they don't want to talk to you.
