Not sure about any team coming coming from the ACC these days. How about the Hokies if your from Va. JMU game was a fluk,,,, Tech's AD must have not taken his medication the day that schedule was made.(short break after playing Boise) Does not matter, I am not a Hokie fan anyway.
not bad for a conference that continually beats itself up. It would be different if the same team or teams won. But this is 4 different teams. GO SEC!!!
I don't particularly care for tOSU and most year's I do think they are a little over-hyped. But I do give them big props for their out of conference scheduling. They recognized the need to strengthen their schedule and they have gone out and scheduled TOP talent. Texas, USC, Miami. Not many teams would do that. I also think this year they are deserving of the ranking. They basicallly returned the entire team that won the Rose Bowl against Oregon. They have a Heisman candidate QB that will definitely help to mitigate the "SEC speed" if it comes down to that. I'm an LSU fan and we have the talent to go all the way, despite the coaching. The ball is in our hands with a hell of a tough road to hoe with Auburn, Bama & Arkansas.
Don't worry about the coaching. Apparently Les has sold his soul and LSU should be good to go the rest of the season. Just a little joke people.
I went over a re-read a lot of things I posted and yeah it does sound very biased toward the SEC. I am really not all about the SEC. I know that there are other conferences that are good. I am just tired of hearing OSU this and OSU that. I saw a conversation on site saying how OSU is a dynasty. These are the things I have to listen to all the time. They are a good team but I just dont think they rank up there with some of the other teams. And yes my post are driven by hate for OSU. I wish they would do away with rankings all together and just start a play off system. It would solve so many issues. Especially when you have some of the best teams in the nation in the same conference. Someone has to lose. So another team that isnt that good benifits from it. I know I sounded like an ass, but sometimes when your blinded by hate, it happens. Sorry to those I may have offended.
No offense taken. Everyone hates a winner; we know this, accept it, and feed off of it... so please, hate all you want p.s- You might want to ask for a transfer 1. THE Ohio State University 2. Oregon (whom we pounded in the Rose Bowl, last January ) 3. Boise State 4. Nebraska 5. TCU (3 & 4 will soon trade positions, with the Vols coming in somewhere between 50-100.. have a nice day )
So I see you're a little higher on the Vols then most. I'd put them ranked somewhere around 100+ this year.
7 National Championships 36 Conference Titles 9 Undefeated seasons (including a 14-0 season; that's a record) 7 Heisman Trophies 5 NCAA Coach of the Year Awards 68 First Round Draft Picks (including 3 Over-all #1's) mmm... that tasted good
GA, I wasn't gonna stoop that low... that's just mean The Vols are sure to bounce back. Kiffin was/is a joke. I think his short tenure did some major damage to the program... he's a loose cannon; maybe worse than Rich-Rod (that's bad!)... but the Vols are the Vols. With the right coach, a couple years of recruiting and some key upsets, they'll be back where they belong.
Maybe they could arrange for Bill Dance to take potential recruits fishing when they are in town for visits?
I had to chuckle with this one. The vols suck this year. I dont see them getting better for about two years. Kiffin was the worst thing that could have happened to them. The more I read what I posted the more I hate myself. Thats not me.
My thoughts on this weekend's games: 1) HAHA! at the Gumps. 2) Les Miles is still an idiot. A lucky idiot. But still an idiot. 3) Denard Robinson can't win games by himself. Ya' heard. 4) Terrelle Pryor will win the Heisman this year. No matter how mediocre his stats. 5) I have no idea how I got away with watching so much football while on my honeymoon. God bless my beautiful wife
Scott, I never realized how big Pryor was until I kept seeing him walk past normal sized people last week on tv. That is one hell of an athlete/QB to be moving that fast at that size.
MP, we all have our moments. I'll always defend the credit of my team but I understand the backlash, also. I was born, raised and currently live on the northern edge of OSU campus... but you'd be surprised how many U of M logos I see. This area of the world lives and breathes football, and particularly Buckeye football. I know some people get sick of it, but it's no different than how other football states/areas feel about their own teams.... nothing but respect for guys like you and GA for sticking out the tough times with your team
