Well he's done, but I won't be moving back home for a month or more yet so he will have to stay at my buddies shop for a while. A little background on this mount. This is not a form you can purchase as-is. It started as a Semi sneak left turn. I had Fritz cut the head off and drop the chin until the main beams were parallel with the floor which in my opinion is a much more natural head placement than many manikins offer. Here is a photo with what my form looked like prior to the alteration (on left) and my form altered on the right. Although the example on the left is from a buck with a thicker neck than mine. But it gives you an idea anyhow. Here is a few finished photos.
Pretty darn cool, Scott! I picked mine up Friday and my taxi showed me a form that started off like mine but which he had altered into a full "chase" mode where the buck has his head stuck straight out and the bottom of his neck was on one single plane... I really liked it a lot, and may have him do my next one like that. Just a gorgeous rack... again.
Oh man, this time when I come to Ohio I won't have to spoon with antlers and a hard skull... I'll have a nicely tanned hide! Looks good buddy.
He looks great Scott. I like the alteration. I didn't realize how far those beams came around until that last pic. Congrats again on the buck.
