How big is this lease? Thats a very nice buck, but I'd think about calling off the dogs if you are hunting there next year.
8-9 farms 3000 acres total. There will be plenty of good ones running around next year.. No need to call off the dogs
Not gonna happen.. We had a good inventory to start with along with new comers and up and comers we will be in fine shape... Nope.. had a 16, 12, 11 and another 10.
That's awesome Bone Head!! Way to go!! For people saying back off on taking anymore bucks, why? Their all older bucks. Leaving the young ones live will fill the gap easily. Well done guys on your lease!!
Hey let me know, seriously. I am kind of local to your lease areas. My brother may be interested as well. I really like that you guys put a lot of work into it. We've been busting our butts up here but still need some time for it to develop.
It takes time to develop that's for sure. We are having our best year ever. It didn't come without a lot of blood sweat and tear's. Gotta tell you Indy that there is a waiting list and a screening process.
Not interested in making money--- just interested in having a place to hunt that I always have a chance at shooting a mature deer. Knowing whats around makes it a lot easier to fend off the temptation to shoot the tweeners..
How long is the waiting list? I'm not concerned with the screening process. I have some good spots near where your leases are, just not consistent. We but our butts on our most local property, but there's no getting around the fact there's 300 acres that are basically not hunted (but controlled by a family that "hunts"). We get some good passer throughs though. Hoping to be down in Jackson county tomorrow morning, should be a great morning to hunt, then it's off to Ohio county for a few days of hunting. Good luck in the timber brothers!
List is 4 or 5 deep. May hunt Jackson in the morning too. I'm probably the family guy with the un hunted 300 acres you speak of.. lol
I wish you were that guy! These guys used to hunt but now simply don't have the time. They may sit out there once during bow season and once or twice during firearms season. They may take 1 buck. We'll go to a neighboring farm and watch from the other side of the field. It's incredible how big some of these deer are. However, there's no pressure where they're at so they don't wander far. Keep in touch about that lease. I'm definitely interested.
