This prednisone I'm using to treat the poison oak is also making my joints feel better. I hadnt tested my bench strength in a long time. 2nd set today I said the hell with it. Just did 225 x 13 reps. Not bad for 46. Bring it deer season 2021.

Back at it this morning: hex bar dead’s, high row, low row, rear delt, glutes, OH db press super light, inc DB Press super light. Shoulder is pretty jacked up. Starting to get a little concerned. I have a trip to Iowa booked and I haven’t been able to draw my bow back..
I know I have lots of time between now and November but it’s Iowa...

I messed up my rotator cuff doing bench presses in early Feb 2020. I wasn't able to lift my arm without pain or draw a bow back for almost 2 months. I ended up turning my bow down to about 57 lbs for turkey season and only had to make one shot so it wasn't terrible. I didn't feel 100% and didn't bench again until sometime in June. That sucked! Just remember to take it easy and try not to make it any worse between now and then.

I forgot my heart rate strap yesterday but my workout felt really good. Did a 30 min HIIT session on the stair machine then my full "pull" circuit.

Today I did 30 min HIIT on the elliptical and had planned on doing push day, but everything I wanted to do was occupied when I got there so I switched and went legs instead. Of all the workouts I do, nothing gets my heart going like weighted box step-ups. Today I did it on the cable machine with 100 lbs of weight. Alternated legs and did 10 step-ups per side. Easily pushed my HR into the low 170's by the end of each set.

That’s sound advice Justin and I appreciate your insight. Don’t get me wrong I have been working around it in the gym while still trying to maintain my ROM. If someone is attacking that arm when I am training BJJ I tap early. I think that is a reasonable approach.
Talked to one of the ortho docs at work about a steroid injection. I might try that and see if I can get some relief.

Did some cuff strengthening exercises and more leg work today. Kept everything light since it’s a call day

It has been a busy week. Last Saturday I shot the R100 with my older boys. I carried a pack with water and snacks, plus my binos that weighed about 20lbs. I carried that most of the five hours it took us to do the shoot, walking about four miles total. The boys had a mountain bike race and baseball practice Sunday. Didn't work out Monday with how tired I was after the weekend.

Tuesday hike, 3 miles in 60 minutes at 20% with a 35lb pack. Did the same hike again today.

Yesterday I did a 20 minute sprint workout and followed that up with five rounds of 5 weighted pull ups, 5 push ups and 1 minute of jump rope.

The mask mandate was dropped in NC, I'm back in the gym. Did son class yesterday and boot camp this morning.

Fri-Mon will be daily hikes of 6-10 miles with at least 1 being a pack hike... I need to really move to every other day with the pack and stay ramping up the lbs.

0/recovery day yesterday except flinging arrows and lawn care... Was hurting from hitting it hard earlier in the week. Had a great meal (elk steaks, and a heap of veg), electrolytes and a date with the wife.

Getting a pack hike in this morning...3 miles in...

been a while since I've been on...been really bad about work outs, though I am still walking the dog daily and taking my several walks around the land and working. I hit the bike a couple of times a day for 20 mins. I seriously need weights but did get a big sap filled maple down. Limbed, 4' log sectioned and a brush pile fence shored up with the top. logs picked up and stacked.
I have lost another size yet not much weight. I'm in a stall for a few weeks then sudden 5# drop rotation no idea whybut sort of good because buying clothes is getting expensive.

When I was "on my way down" I knew I wouldn't be staying in certain sizes for long so I just bought what clothes I needed at goodwill. It saved alot of money, until it came time to replace all my expensive hunting clothes.

Not an option around here...they have all closed. I've been relying on cheap Sam's club jeans(12.99) and leggings. I did get some nice woman's jeans and pants the other day with daughters shopping trip. Though between sizes and even those are a tad loose. I bought a "test" size a couple of weeks ago that I could not button or zip. IT'S funny my weight is in that stall pattern yet. Sizes are changing. I try those jeans on once a week. Yesterday I buttoned and zipped them ,tight but not a problem. Still won't wear until not tight.
Ran into someone that has not seen me since I started my new life style. LOL their reaction was so funny..I mean 30 mins.! They couldn't contain themselves to the point of almost being insulting unwhittlenly. The funniest part was they are 8 yrs younger and they flipped when I took off my Sun glasses. OMG!! Your beautiful!!! You've gotten younger, how'd you do that! Your not sagging , no neck. You don't even look tired! Hahaha.... Where are the wrinkles? All I could say is I take supplements and moisturize.

In true glutton fashion, I ate terribly this weekend and enjoyed every bite. lol

My daughter woke up at 4:30 this morning because she thought she saw a "giant gnat" in her room. Half-asleep dad couldn't find the dangerous creature but since I was already up I got to the gym a little earlier than usual. 15 min HIIT warmup on the elliptical, 1 hour lift session (back/shoulders), 20 minutes on the stair bastard, then stretches and planks. 1 hr 45 min total workout, 1250 calories according to my HR monitor.

Feeling good. Now I just need to lay off the pizza and Oreos.

That's ok, we all need to splurge now and then. It only becomes a problem if we do it day after day. I always say: "Don't let a slip become a fall." If you take a day off, get right back on the horse the next day.

Did an easy upper body lift and walk today. Last week's workouts left ridiculously sore this past weekend and I didn't sleep well. I ended up taking an two hour nap on Sunday. I rarely do that.
