Thanks! I had been stuck at 405 as max for about six months. I don’t know what was different about today but everything just felt easier.
Got a good fast run and leg workout this morning. 30min and done. Hard and exhausting. Weight training is finally starting to help me loose weight by having lean muscle. I've lost 5 lbs in last 3 months since finally working out after hernia surgery. If I can get to 230 that would be a big goal of mine.
Today I hit 5# from the goal I set for my Dec 31 Dr. Appointment. That gives me 21/2 months to meet and surpass that first goal. I can then look at my second goal.
I’ve been running consistently for 7 weeks now. I didn’t run in August, but had started in May and ran through July. Three days a week, 2 milers. Some 3 milers in there. I posted in this thread a long time ago about running a 50k. I’m not a runner but I still want to do it. A guy I work with used to run quite a bit. Like 19 minute 5k. I lured him into running a 50k trail run a year from now. We’re doubling mileage this week but dropping the pace. Sort of started a train for the training and we’ll ramp up more in April. I’m using this Run with Hal app to base my training off of. Last night was a 3 miler at a straight easy pace. I kept at a 10:41/mile pace and I felt pretty good afterward. Tomorrow’s 6 miler will be interesting. I’ve never ran 6 miles straight!
Wow! , I've never been a runner. Even in high school at 110#'s, which is why I was a goalie and fast ball soft ball pitcher...lol I can't imagine so God bless ya and hope you hit your goal.
Upper body lift yesterday. Did a light weight hike with 20lbs today for 60 minutes but had the treadmill incline on 12%, only covered three miles.
Way to stay after it, you guys/gals rock! Nothing to interesting on my end. Still getting my morning weight training and running 4 miles twice a week. I will confess I went to the gym instead of running outside in a cold rain the other morning. I cringe to think what Goggins would say about that.
We were talking about him today at work. All came to the conclusion that he would not be a very fun person to hang out with.
So not proud to say, but is what it is, It all started with a debilitating back issue years ago. That said you guys talk about adding weights for your hikes and work outs I smile. 10 #'s more and I'll have lost the equivalent of a 50# sack of corn I've been walking around and working with for 12 years. To say I have strong legs is an understatement...lol
Walk, run, and pushups today. Still slowly losing weight. Time to put the physical strength into action and hunt hard. Good luck everyone.
Did the bootcamp this morning. Stationary bike class tomorrow, though the class will start 15 minutes earlier... TBD if that means 15 minutes longer I never thought I'd get such a good (cardio, legs and core) workout from a bike class, but it kicks my ass... Literally, moping sweat of the floor. With sprints and climbs, we are still covering 20+ mile equivalent in about 50 minutes.
Got that 6 mile run out of the way. Fell a little short on the pace though. Wanted to be 1 hour and 7 minutes. Ended up 1:11. Better luck next week! Zebra cake roll for my effort though!
