Finished off a long week of work and workouts with a 2.1 walk/2.1 mile run. Time for a beer.

Well I finally found the new spin cycle, lets see if It's as good as people and videos showed. It gets here at the end of the week. At 27#'s as of this morning. I have gotten to a 23 hr fast, one really good meal a day. Tried on some clothes I hadn't worn in years, missed the mark on those, all too big. Nice way to start a Monday.

I keep adding volume as the season closes in soon. Ran 2.5 miles this morning. This afternoon I walked for an hour with a 20lb pack and did 150 pushups along the way.

I did an upper body lift Monday. Yesterday, hiked 3 miles in 45 minutes at 7.5% with 30 lbs. My work day didn't allow for my full 60 minute lunch break or I think I would have hit 4 miles.

I quit barbell bench pressing a few years ago. As someone who wants to bow hunt until I am put in the grave, I do not think that it is worth the injury risk to the shoulders. DBs and push up variations are a much better alternative for longevity and good shoulder health.

Yeh, I agree for the most part. I have been fortunate not to have any serious injuries...I been bodybuilding for over 20 years. I warm up good and I know my limits. The only reason I still use the barbell is because I can push more weight..my chest just doesn't respond to all DB work..although I do incorporate them in my workout

Yeah, they were rough. I haven't done sprints in a few months due to increasing my hiking. Normally, I would do 15-20, five had me feeling like I had the wind knocked out of me. I am going to have to start doing more.

did my chest workout in reverse today to change it up. started with 4 sets of 6 flat bench DB 95 lbers. whoa, that was a shock, then went to barbell incline on the smith 4 sets 6 190 lbs. then flat bench barbell 225l bs 5 sets of 3. I was getting pretty spent. Then peck deck 4 sets of 10, then 3 sets of dips and 3 sets of light cable flies...chest feels good!

Using a back belt tiE a log and line to it and dragging it will give you that leg and cardio exercise with less chance of a tear. I ripped my thigh muscle some years ago running back wards while fighting off an attacking dog. WOW actually sound like paper tearing in my head and PAIN!!!!. Also if you have to drag a deer out it is the best exercise.

So I've told you guys, even though I'm a bit active I'm not a small person. Is what it is. Dr's never bugged me about it because they know just how active I am.
That said I can say I'm close to my first goal due at end of Dec when I have my next appointment.

Thats where I started, my therapist had me on that machine when I tore my ACL. I adapted to a log then realized the harrow drag with tines up worked well and easy to adjust weight by laying a log on top.
Lol ...double duty works great to smooth out ground, working back and forth.

Finally getting back to deadlifting and squatting. 2.5 months of a slow grind back from double hernia surgery. 2.5 months ago I couldnt run faster than a 20min mile pace for a quarter mile before I had to stop. I couldnt even do 1 full bodyweight squat to parallel without a lot of pain and weakness. Today I was able to crack off a few sets of 10 reps with 185lbs on the squat. Nothing major but it is a vast improvement for me...I'd like to get to about 225 for sets of 10 and maintain through hunting season to keep my dragging legs strong.
