Just finished off my work week with a 1.5 mile walk and 1.5 mile run. Best run ive had since getting laid up. Just strung together four good workout days in a row. Time to fish and shoot.
WTG Brett, you are definitely getting there! Just finished a four mile run myself. It was like running in a sauna. Oh and don't do this either. It gets expensive! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Had a good week of workouts so I was a bit leg weary today. Oh well. It was still 90 degrees tonight when I did a walk and run for an hour. Thought I'd be able to cover 6 miles in that time. Only covered 4.75. Oh well. Was a good workout in the heat.
Local Y has started up morning classes, outdoors. Doing a bootcamp class (generally ~10 exercises, 50 reps, circuit for 45 minutes) on Tues. Stationary Cycle class on Thur. I'll do a quick 2mi hike with the dog on these days before the 5:30am class. Other days a 5-6 mile hike, with an 80# pack usually on Sat. I'll throw sets of step lunges into the hike a few days some up the 15° hill (talk about a pain in the ass)... Legs are ready for Colorado, need to work on the cardio a bit more.
I had my first physical this week since starting my diet and exercise program more than five years ago. First of all I thank God for His continued blessing of good health. My results were all grossly normal. Everything from triglycerides to cholesterol to a1c, psa and all the rest. BP, bmi, and weight all normal. I celebrated with a three mile run this morning. If you are looking at this thread and you want to improve your health, you can do it! No matter your age it's never too late to start. Say to yourself "No more excuses!" Just do it! Good week of training. Weight training has been going ok. I had a great chest workout one morning where my lifts were back were I would like them to be. Still have some ground to reclaim with other lifts. Averaging just over a hundred miles on the bike per week. Plantar fasciitis has settled down so I will try to get in a couple short runs this week. Stay after guys before you know it we will be needing this fitness to drag our bucks out.
I'm 45 and almost 240lbs. Not real sure I still think like I'm 20 and 200lbs...but heck with it, ive been doing plyos.
20#'s....see DR mowing the rye field...lol Still collecting points for a better recumbent bike 220 + 75 gift card and counting. The eliptical is great but I have fewer knee issues on the bike
Pretty good week of training. I only ran twice after weight training. I would like to get in at least one more run per week. I was pretty good with working on my flexibility this week. I really need to devote more time to stretching. Stay after it!
I know I've said this before but exercise is the best medicine. Thank goodness I grew up always training and competing. I'm pretty sure it has saved my life in more ways than one and has prevented me from going down the negative path of so many people in my family's history. Did some hang cleans today to start the workout. Ha.
45 minutes of Tabata this morning (Y outdoor class). Trainer hit the shoulders and legs pretty hard today, I can hardly lift my arms...
I lifted last week and yesterday. Took a break from the hiking last week and so far this week. I need to buy new shoes before hiking with weight again. I have worn these ones out. I have been too busy car shopping to go get shoes.
A couple rough boot camp and spin classes already this week has me thinking... Why hasn't somebody invented a full body, foam roller, machine... Think car wash meets foam rollers. Oof. Carry on! Elk and deer season are right around the corner.
Been hammering it 5 or so days a week. Finally been able to work in some squats since surgery two months ago. Did 3 sets of 10 with 115lbs and thought I was a big shot! haha. Slow and steady.
Short week of training last week. That being said we were pretty active while we were vacationing. Rode bikes 38miles one day and averaged about 10 miles of walking everyday. Back at it tomorrow morning.
