On Weds morning there were 10 people at the gym. This morning 20. Seems like people are getting a little more comfortable coming back in now. I've seen a few familiar faces that weren't there last week. Thankfully it's a big place and distancing is not hard to do. Masks are required when not working out and everyone gets their temp taken when they enter. So far, so good.

Pushed it hard on the stair machine this morning and almost got back to my best numbers pre-lockdown. Just over 3 miles and 150 flights in 30 minutes. Boy, that works up a sweat!

Strength is coming along a little slower, but it's getting there. I typically do the push/pull/legs split. Today was pull day and it felt good. Hoping next week's push day makes a little more progress than this week. Considering I haven't lifted anything heavy since February, it feels good so far. Thankfully I could still walk after leg day on Monday. I guess riding the exercise bike during lockdown paid off a little bit after all.

Currently doing 3 days/wk right now. Hoping to push it to 4 starting next week. Getting up a 4:45 sucks when it's not to go hunting or fishing.

You guys are killing me. All I have is homemade stuff to assist me. Gyms are still locked down tight. Thank God for my treadmill. I did throw in small weights for hands and ankles.

We canceled our family gym membership months ago. Once I get back to work on Sunday I will workout in the facility gym on work days and do other stuff when Im not working. Seems to be a good mix for me. Plus its almost hunting season...endurance.

Our gyms are still closed, yes, I'm jealous.

    Nice, will help with CO!

Getting up early gets easier as you get older... If it helps any. Keep it up!

Walked a bit then ran a mile and a quarter. Was finally able to do three planks in a row for over 30 seconds. My abdominal muscles are so tight and have scar tissue, they are really my limiting factor. Hopefully they will begin to loosen a bit because it isnt fun.

Spent the week in the OBX. I brought my running shoes but it was 82 degrees and 78% humidity at 6 am so I didn’t bother. Ate like Matt Stonie every day. I was 173 last Friday and 184.7 this morning. I know most of that is water but not all of it. Time to get after it!

This low carb transition coupled with 90+ degrees has me just doing the daily walks and my work around here. Ive been intermittent fasting with 2 meals a day, no snacks. 10# weight loss.

No worries, you know what to do! I weighed in last week for the first time since my retirement. I wasn't sure what I'd see but I was actually down two pounds. I've been doing alot of cardio every day and am reaching my activity and step count always.

Walked five miles yesterday and ran a mile and a half. Lifted today. Bring it 2020 deer season.

After I ran my first and only marathon in December 2016 I hung up my running shoes.

This morning I finally put them back on, so to speak, along with my Garmin Forerunner 235.

I went to Pinewoods lake and started easy: Two miles of “run 2 minutes/walk 2 minutes”. After that I walked a third mile at a 15 minute pace.

I am so out of shape. The humidity was 90% with no breeze and I thought I was gonna die.

I’m not sure I want to keep this up.

I know it's tough at first but if you stick with it, it will get easier. In the end you will never regret doing it. The benefits of being in good shape are endless..........especially as you age.

    Blessings..............Pastorjim

Hike with a weighted pack. It is better prep for hunting.

Yeah, I know. I’ve definitely been here before.

When I was trying to catch my breath today I thought back to the 2016 marathon training during the summer. I mostly did my training runs at about 4:00 pm in the Memphis heat and humidity.

Lookimg back I don’t know how I did it.

Best workout since the surgery. Straight hour of cardio and legs. Sweating like a pig but at least my body didnt fold and was able to push through.

Down to 176.3 this morning, sounds about right. Good week of training, weights in the morning and 20 miles on the bike most nights. Diet is on point. On call all weekend so it will be fun trying to stay away from the refrigerator.

Stay after it guys and gals!
