Been slacking pretty bad lately but did make it to gym last night. Was first time in while. Been a rough summer with back then think pulled a muscle in side, if thats even a thing ha, then of all things had a cold for bout week and half of so. Idk who gets sick in middle of summer when its 95 degrees out but I did. Anyway all back to normal now and need to get back into it. Did upper body, stayed low weight. Then dod some rack pulls at end just because. Worked up to 360 before grip was smoked but felt good.

Steady grinding. Even on bad weeks I'm still getting in something.

I have had a head cold the past week. Nothing more intense than an hour of walking for me until Friday. On Friday I did heavy deadlifts up to 350lbs. Hopefully, resting this weekend has kicked the last of it outof my system.

A couple guys from work and I have been having fun trying to out do each other with the following pull up challenge. The goal is to do 100 pull ups as fast as you can. You can use any grip you want. After every set of pull ups you drop down and do 20 push ups. So say you do 20 pull ups you drop down and do your push ups, then do 12 pull ups drop down and do your push ups etc etc until you get to 100 pull ups. It has been a fun way to improve our body weight push pull game.

100 pullups flanked by pushups is no joke. 100 pullups by themselves is a high volume. I get to maybe 30 to 40 total and I am wore out.

Im still running three to five miles a day but ive really been slacking on the other exercises I normally do. Main thing is my intake is spot on everyday so I'm not really concerned about any weight gain. Been at or below my goal for five years now. Stay after it boys!

Definitely something most of us had to work up to. If you are doing 30-40 regularly you could definitely make the leap to 100 with a little effort.

Got in a good light lifting workout this morning. 4 rounds of KB Clean and Presses, Pull ups, KB Lunges, and Pushups. Jump rope for 1 minute at the end of each round. Followed that up with a 30 minute unweighted hike on an inclined treadmill. Still just a touch congested from the head cold. Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday it will be completely gone.

Did a pretty good workout this afternoon. Worked on deadlifts, worked up to 315 for 3x5. Then did rdl's at 205 for 3x10. Then did squat at 225 for 3x5. Was kinda spent after that but did legs curls and leg extensions on the machines got at gym. Ended workout on ab machine doin about 60 to 70 reps, 2 sets of 25 then a set of aroind 20 or so, with about 130#'s of resistance. The ab machine probably isn't really best way to work core but they had a yoga class goin and most of the open floor space in gym was taken up ha. Didn't figure they'd wanna hear metal playing and me struggling to work abs while doin yoga.

One thing changed up was got different pair of shoes to wear if know I'm gonna do certain lifts. Maybe it's bs but did seem to help little bit. They were on sale for 80 bucks and my other gym shoes are getting kinda wore out so that's the justification used to buy them ha.

Got in a three mile hike with a 45 lb pack this morning. Had to do it on the treadmill as the heat index is 105F.

It has been a month long stretch of nasty heat here in VA. We are lucky if it goes below 90 degrees when the sun is out. I cannot wait until it drops into the low 80s. Hopefully that happens by Mid Sept.

We have a high of 84 in Little Rock today. But, it has taken absolute downpours to cool it off.

Good workout today. Did a 500 calorie challenge on the treadmill. It says I burned 500 calories but it didnt take account of my weight being about 50 lbs heavier than the avg Male. So maybe I burned a little more than 500 calories. Alternated intervals of a fast run, walk, jog. Took me 54 mins to register 500 calories burned on the treadmill. I'm a goal oriented person this will be fun trying to improve on how fast it will take me to burn 500 calories on the treadmill. It taxed my system pretty good.

I actually love the treadmill. Some find it boring but if you approach it like you did, it can actually be quite challenging.

I'll just leave this here...btw, it's amazing what a 12 degree incline will help you burn. [IMG]

You are the man. I put it at a 5 or 6 degree incline and did intervals....but I could only keep it there for a couple mins. I think def should be I could seriously improve. I'll try it again soon and try to get my time down.

Crap I have gained weight, I was told by my lovely wife that I need to drop weight before the son's wedding. Going to be hard to shed pounds when it takes a regimen of aleve and advil to mow the damn "lawn" She said the dreaded words you know if you cut out beer in your diet.

How the hell do you not gain weight eating restaurant food 3-4 days a week?
