I turn 36 on Sunday. Decided to get an early start on my old man strength with a 400lb deadlift today. I only weigh 167lbs. 2.4x my bodyweight. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

That crap hurts bad. Got it real bad about 9 years ago. Realized for me, my calves and hips were weak. Took me some time to lay off the running for it to heal. Strengthened those two areas and havent had a problem since. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Do what VS suggested. Also, take a frozen plastic water bottle and stand on it where the pain is until it “pops.” Plantar Fasciitis is really bad knots in the fasciae on the bottom of your foot. Breaking the knots with pressure from frozen water bottle is the same effect as getting a massage. This will provide temporary relief. Do that with strengthening the hips will fix it for the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Did this again today. Took my first two sprints out to 25 seconds bc I was feeling good. Could only get 4 more 15 sec sprints after bc I was gonna throw up in front of everyone at the ymca. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Like 5 steps? Asking for a friend ha. Hit gym today. Ended up having longer workout than planned, 3 hours, but it was alright. Started with deads and did heaviest I've done since hurt back month or so ago. Felt good and wanted to do more but I'm a little gun shy about messing something up again. But its been beneficial overall because I've been focusing more on form. Worked up to 270 doin 2 or 3 reps on each set. Added another 50 and did 2 sets of 4. After that bumped it back to 180 and did a set of 8. Moved to squat and went warmed up to 230 and did 2 sets of 5. Again back down, this time to 160 and did set of 8. Was pretty much spent after that but took break to stretch out again than did a gym bro arm workout. High reps and low weight. Overall felt pretty good and happy to finally be healed up and not really hurting anywhere. Edit: Well crap I just realized reading over this I forgot to add in bar for weight on deadlifts. Not that anybody cares but actually hit 360 on final 2 sets of 4 before dropping back down. Haven't done that much for probably month and half or 2 months. Like said sure nobody else cares but kinda been using this thread to look back at for reference. Also in case anyone wonders do squats on smith machine so don't add bar weight. One of my goals was to run a sub-40 minute five miles by the end of July. Hit that this morning. Feeling really good today. Got it done in 39:54. https://www.instagram.com/p/BynaKP0lq9P/?igshid=1rei108enzj6j Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nicely done. I turn 36 this year, and I don't heal as fast as I used to. I do more pushups, pullups and body weight squats than I used to, not as much heavy weight. Gotta keep those shoulders and my back solid and healthy. I do more inclined walks than running too. I need to be ready to go West when/if I draw a tag.
I turned 36 on June 2nd. I do heavy power cleans and dead lifts. Pretty much everything else is about push ups, pull ups, core strength and endurance. I am at the point where I care more about the longevity of my body and keeping up with the kids than with trying to impress people in the gym.
Hill sprints on the neighborhood hill, 6 rounds 25 seconds up, 1.5 min down, gonna have to shorten the length up and recovery next time though...
Cantexians post motivated me. Hell of a long work week and 14 hr day yesterday to close out the week. Did a sprint workout and legs yesterday so I was just gonna chill today. Nope...got motivated and ran 2.5 miles. Those sprints are starting to pay off. One of the miles I covered in about 7.5 minutes. No effect on my cardio. Only legs were sore bc of yesterdays workout.
