No kidding here, I do owe a lot to @Sota for calling me fat. Just a great doctors visit for me. I did not have to get the "your obese" talk, my wife and I are living a great fun life in our 50's, she retires next year and who knows what I will be doing, whatever it is, I will not be fat doing it!!

So with from my heart and not joking, thank you @Sota

I am thrilled that you have had great success. One thing you need to remember. Permanent weight loss is not a destination, it is a lifelong journey. If you go back to the habits that got you overweight in the first place, you WILL gain it back. Don't ask me how I know. I wish you continued success!

Yep, it's why we change our diets and life style. No more sugar drinks for me, really have change how we eat. I get the Akins snacks and fruit and nuts for snacks.

For the first time in 30 years no Christmas cookies will be made. I feel so good, I really don't want to go back!!

Don’t give Sota to much credit. I’m guessing you knew you were fat but you finally made up your mind to do something about it. You made those changes, it was your discipline and self control. Good work, stay after it.

Today I ordered a hinged knee brace. Suppose to be a post op one that has extension adjustments and has two upper straps and two lower ones. I'm hoping it helps the knee I had 2/3 of my meniscus removed and arthritis scraped several, several years ago. I'm desperately avoiding a knee replacement. GP keeps insisting I go to my knee surgeon because It needs replacing. He refuses any other options.
I hear these work great on lessening the pain so wish me luck

Good luck. For what it’s worth most of the people I know that had joint replacement wish they would have done it sooner.

Problem is, I do not have the time to be down like that. The last time I was down like that I had the kids here for support. Hubby doesn't have the type of job where he can just take off. He is holding off on retirement. Besides he has worse mobility issues than me. He was ran over by a drunk driver ( hit and run) as a kid and nearly lost his leg. Then had a skidsteer roll and crushed his good foot.
    Lol ...we are a mess.

Dang I'm a fool! For I should have bought this brace years ago. Put it on and literally instant relief.

Still getting after it in my own pathetic way. R arm is slowly getting a little better in some ways but my R shoulder has been starting to hurt more than usual. To make matters worse I had a pretty hard landing a couple weeks ago and messed up my R heel. X rays were negative so it’s gonna be a slow grind while the soft/connective tissue heals.
As a result I’ve been spending more time on the spin bike. On days I lift I’m doing 10-15 miles and days I don’t lift I will do 20-30miles. Weight has been hovering around 180. I would like to get that back down to 177-178 before the holidays.

    Stay after it.

So being there let me say...
    Do not push that heel
I had a family favor to do yesterday, that had me at the Sams club in person. I had way too much to get in person. Slow walk behind the cart, loading, unloading then again at car and home. Heel pain migrated up the back of my achillies tendon.
    Take care and heel fast

I hear you. I’ve been know to be a knucklehead about these things but I’m doing my best to stay off it as much as I can. I bought a couple padded heel cups per the advice of one of the docs I work with. Too soon to tell if that will help.

Still at it —did a 3-mile walk today, not lifting as much as I am due to some strained ligament issues, but back tomorrow!!!

I decided I am done with going to the dr for my liver. It is nothing but tests with no treatment. I don't need it I know how I feel and I feel good, my digestive system has never been better, I am not puking. Just waiting for ice on the lake so I can cross country ski. I get effected by the seasonal lack of daylight and winter in general only way to deal with it is to exercise.

I've also went back to the gym this week after taking the whole month of November off. That's the longest break I've taken since I started this regiment over 10 years ago. My body is reminding me that it is 70 years old with some soreness and stiffness. But I'll get back to normal real soon
