Got in another fast ride on gravel. More rain and trails are still sloppy.

Felt great on this ride. Hit my calorie intake almost perfect. It was really humid and probably should have drank more water. But other than that, great ride. Would have keep riding, but ran out of daylight. Screenshot_20250618_085046_Strava.jpg

    Nice work!!

I got to bed at a decent time last night so this morning's workout was fairly productive. 30 minutes / 232 flights of stairs then seated cable rows, lat pulldowns, upright rows, shoulder front raises and some cable curls for good measure.

Hoping to get back tomorrow to make it 3 in a row.

35 minutes on the elliptical this morning to work up a good sweat. I wasn't paying much attention to how far or fast I was going, but I think I got in just under 4 miles or so. Followed up with leg day - weighted step-ups, single leg toe touches, split squats, leg press and leg extensions. I always know I had a good leg day when I walk down the stairs after my workout and feel like I'm going to fall.

Walk about 8 miles a day in Nashville, honestly so grateful Sota called me fat. I carried about 15 lbs of camera equipment on the hikes, let just say the trails were not flat;) I could have went another 8 no problem,

Finally lost 5#'s of the weight stress gained since Scout arrived. I'm sure it's water weight loss, I've been out of control sweating in this heat.
I've taken to soaking in Cool water baths everyday.
Heat has made my fasting much easier, first meal is usually between 1:45 and 3:30pm

Finally got in a short ride last night. Also on trail, but it was still sloppy and lots of trees down from recent storms. We had that horrible heat wave this past week, so decided not to push it and ride. Hopefully this coming week will be better. Screenshot_20250628_120719_Strava.jpg

I spent the last 5 days in St. Louis with my son's travel baseball team - eating way too much junk, drinking a few too many beers with the parents, and not doing nearly enough physical activity. I did manage to drag myself to the gym at the hotel twice, though, which is better than nothing. They had a full-blown gym setup, which was nice. I got in 30 minutes of stairs followed by push day on Sat and pull day on Sun. I wanted to get to the gym this morning, but we didn't get home until almost midnight last night, and I didn't get to sleep until nearly 1 am.

Planning on starting July off on the right foot tomorrow by getting to the gym in the morning before work.

This rain and thunderstorms in the evenings are really killing my outdoor activities. Its just hard for me to get any motivation to workout indoors.

Throw lunges into the mix, especially if you have some up/down hill sections...it will surprise you.

Another seemingly innocuous love/hate workout, take a single weight l(dumbell I think are better for long hike, medicine ball or relatively light bar -like a shorter curl bar). Inverse proportion of weight to distance (long hike/walk = light weight).

Had a great time on vacation, spent a lot of time playing whiffle ball with the extended family and hiking. Yesterday was the first day back at work, got a 60 minute incline walk at 7.5% and 3.2 mph, burned almost 700 calories.

Today I made a small change to the squat workout going from a standard olympic bar to a safety squat bar, did a max test and hit 350lbs for a 1 rep max.
    Other work:
    Pull Ups 4 x 5 @BW
    Decline Sit ups 4 x 10 @BW
    Pull Downs 3 x 8 @195lbs

Its been tough getting back in shape post mono. Took me almost a month to build a base back up. Now Im starting to up the intensity. Getting tired of jogging so Ive started running intervals. Faster and taxing. Thats the kind of conditioning I need.
