Hope you heal up quick man!!! I know the feeling on the sweets, they’ve been killing me lately with all the Easter candy… homemade peanut butter eggs are a different beast

Finally got some stair work in this morning - 233 flights / 30 minutes. Followed with dips, bench press, incline bench and endless rope pulldowns.

That is all for now. Carry on!

Last week 3 days, 4.5 miles walked, 180 squats, 180 lunges, 100 pushups, 180 of butt lifts as I call them. Feeling slim and trim and stronger. Keeping it simple and adding more exercises each week.

Happy Monday, bros! I took the weekend off from any "official" workouts to try and let my old man body recover and feel fully charged again. Pro tip: it didn't work. I'm not sure feeling 100% is ever going to be a thing again.

Hit the gym this morning for 237 flights of stairs followed by leg curls, leg extensions, leg press, cable crunches and some dumbbell side raises. Tonight we have baseball practice in forecasted 40 mph gusts, so that should be fun!

Not much new for me on exercise side of life. Knee seems to be ok. Going to try riding my bike tomorrow and just go with it and see what happens. I did install siding for 5 hours yesterday and was running up and down a ladder the whole time. Knee felt fine, just some soreness today from that. Really looking forward to a bike ride, haven't been on my bike since April 1.

Taking a break from heavier lifts this week to give my body a deload. Still going to hit my main barbell lifts, but with lighter weights and mix in conditioning to focus on a little more fat burn this week. I weighed in at 201 a couple of weeks ago and would love to hit 195 by my birthday in June. Got five weeks to make it happen.

    Today's Workout:
Power Cleans 3 x 3 @95lbs, 30 second Assault Bike sprint after each set.
    Split-Jerks 5 x 2 @95lbs, 30 second Assault Bike sprint after each set.
    Pull Ups 4 x 5 @BW
    Pull Downs 3 x 8 @165lbs

I did a 20 minute "no hands" warmup on the stair bastard this morning. Nothing crazy, just trying to break a sweat and get the HR up a bit. Followed up with wide lat pulldowns, narrow cable rows, cable lat raises, hammer curls and single arm bent over rows.

I got some kind virus that has put a hurting on me for nearly 3 weeks. I powered through working out until I realized it was a lost cause. Had to go get blood tests and a CT scan. They said everything looked good but I am still so fatigued. Finally not sleeping 14 hrs a day. Been walking and getting some sun. Only good byproduct is I've really honed in on my diet and have been going 14 to 16 hrs without carbs and it's paying off with fat loss.

Finally got a bike ride in last night! Didn't feel good for whole ride, but pushed thru it and just did a slow and steady ride. Goal was 4 hours, but couldn't make it. The legs completely shut down and cramped bad.

This will be a great base ride to show me where im at after a month off and hopefully only get better. Knee felt fine with no pain, so that is great. Screenshot_20250430_063852_Strava.jpg

I pushed through 240 flights of stairs this morning, which has to be close to my PB if I was actually keeping track. Felt really good and will probably try to increase that next week.

After my HR came back down to Earth, I lifted for about 30 minutes or so. Flat bench, dips, incline bench, skull crushers and chest flies.

Also, a rude wake-up call. Just yesterday from at least 4 or 5 people, all on separate occasions, said "well you are getting old." Including my wife saying it to me. It's not something you want to hear, and im not ready to feel that way. Just weird that so many people said that to me on the same day.

Im only turning 45 this year, feel like Im in the prime of my life, other then getting sick or hurt every other month, haha!

If you continue your present activity until you really are old, then you will embrace your age with pride because you will be able to do things none of your peers can do. Don't ask me how I know!!

I'm also turning 45 this year and feel like I'm in pretty good shape. A lot of the fellas I grew up with and played sports with are looking pretty rough these days. It's nice to run around with my kids at baseball practice while the other coaches & dads stand there and rub their big bellies or hobble around on their bad knees. I'm ready to keep getting after it!

My wife (also 45) went to the lady doc yesterday for her annual checkup and got the "this is common at your age" in response to a bunch of random issues she's having.

Ahhh.....getting old is fun, isn't it?!?!
