Been out of town for the last few days but the gym here is pretty nice. DB up to 100lbs and a bunch of machines. I’ve lifted the last couple days and managed to get about 13k steps despite spending half the day at a conference. Ran 2 miles this morning. Hopefully kiteboarding tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

I felt good enough to .....
Shovel the entire drive, the mail box and open end of drive across the street. I think it actually helped my lungs. That said exausted, but in a good way.

Well guys, rough start to spending the winter in Florida. I had left indiana yesterday to try and get ahead of the winter storm. I got 5 miles from the Tennessee line and stopped to get something to drink. I walked in and thought I was ģoing to I pass out. I went back to the car and thought I would rest a while and it would go away but it didn't. I noticed a hotel across the street and thought I would just check in and spend the night there and maybe it would get better. But when I went over there and went in I literally could not stand. The desk clerk asked if I wanted an ambulance but I asked her how far the closest hospital was. She said about 3 miles. I thought about driving there but I was really afraid I might pass out at which point the clerk called an ambulance. They came and picked me up ànd got me in the ER. Turns out I was badly dehydrated. They gave me a liter of fluid and did some other tests and I started to feel much better. The doctor asked me if I wanted another liter of fluid but I told him no cause I really wanted to get back on the road. I got back to the hotel where my car was and I started feeling really bad again. At this point I gave up on continuing my trip and just wanted to go back home but I was 6 hours away. At this point my daughters had heard about the incident and were freaking out. The youngest ended up heading my way and intercepted me about three hours from home. She and my granddaughter got me home about two in the morning. I'm feeling pretty rough today but I have a Dr appointment on Monday. For now I think I've given up on going down there this year.

Sorry to hear Jim. Hopefully it’s nothing, as active as you are most of the time without trouble.

After a few days of eating like a butthead at the ATA Show I am back after it today. I spent some time meal prepping my lunches yesterday afternoon to force myself to get back on track.

220 flights of stairs this morning followed by weighted step-ups, leg extensions, leg curls, leg press, cable crunches and cable trunk twists.

Back after it tomorrow! Going for a 4x workout week.

We got new elliptical machines at the gym and let me tell you, they aren't the same as the old ones! I was on the struggle bus to squeak out 4 miles in 30 minutes this morning at a relatively low resistance. I even spiked my HR up into the high 160's at one point, which was previously pretty difficult to do on our old machines.

I followed that up with some back/shoulders work. Rear delt flies, dead hangs 4 x 30 sec to ease back into it, lat pulldowns, single arm bent over rows, front dumbbell raises and dumbbell military press. I went light on the military press as that one usually hurts my shoulders a fair amount and I wanted to see how it felt. So far, so good so I'll increase the weight a bit next time.

After my meltdown (dehydration) event last week, I'm skipping out on the gym for a few days. I went to the doctor yesterday and I do feel somewhat better, just not up to full speed yet. My main issue turned out to be Norovirus. Yuk! I WILL be back at it soon though.

My son had that a few weeks before Christmas, he had a couple of rough days with a fever and then it took about another 4 days before his normal energy was back.

My oldest got norovirus last week and woke up puking his guts out at 2 am Friday morning. He was down and out all day Friday and Saturday and finally started moving around a bit on Sunday, but his energy levels were pretty low. Fortunately, it seems he's past it now, and nobody else in the house got it (yet). Stomach flu is one of the worst things to get - especially when it's coming out of both ends at the same time.

    Glad you're on the mend!
