Inspiring stuff!!! I love hearing people's "ah ha" moment when they finally decide to take control of their life and fitness. It's cool to hear what it is that finally gets to people and motivates them because it's something different for everyone.

Side note - I met a guy at the Wisconsin Dells expo this last weekend who came up to me and said "It's really great to see you getting healthy and in shape. You were getting pretty fat there for awhile."

Im finally closing in on sub 220lbs (been 8 or 9 years). That would put me at a 25lb loss since last Jan. Believe I'm a week or two from doing it.

I did over 1000 sit-ups this week. Why am I so "sit-up focused?" Because when I began this program 9yrs ago, the trainer/evaluator at my gym had me go through several exercises. When we got to to the sit-ups I could not do a single one, no kidding! So being able to do what I can do now is just satisfying to me.

Since the beginning of the year I've averaged running over a mile a day. I'm still a little short on my yearly goal but I'm gaining miles every month.

Sumo-deadlifts on Friday: 5 x 5 @150, 180, 190, 225, 250. Skipped doing accessory work because my oldest and I spent all day Saturday helping one of his teachers and wrestling coach move back into their home. It was completely destroyed in the tornado that hit Little Rock a year ago today.

Well boys, I regrettably failed at 75Hard this weekend after 50 days. Ugh! I have a fistful of excuses, but suffice it to say my heart just wasn't into it this time around. I felt myself slipping close to failure for the last week by going lighter on my second workout of the day or eating a little bit more than I should have been, but telling myself it was okay because I wasn't "technically" breaking my diet.

Friday night was a late one, followed by a super early Saturday to take my boys turkey hunting and then a bunch of errands and other stuff after that. I couldn't find the motivation to get two workouts in, so I threw in the towel. Shame!

That doesn't mean my journey ends, as I'm still committed to health and ending 2024 at 180 lbs, along with a few other personal goals. 75Hard was a small means to a greater end and I still think it's a great program and glad that I gave it another shot. Perhaps I will do it again in the future. But for now, I'm back to "normal" life. I took yesterday off from working out, ate a little bit of my kid's Easter candy (but not too much), then woke up this morning and hit a new PB on the stair machine - 235 flights in 30 minutes. I followed that with 30 minutes of leg day - weighted step-ups, glute raises, single leg toe touches with a 20kg kettle bell, split squats and leg curls.

Hey man, you put in a heck of a effort. But the body will tell you when it's enough. If anything like me, you put yourself in a weakened state, then seem to get sick easily.

Something I try to do everyday is always keep my self busy from sun up til sun down. Even if it's something small like go pick up sticks in the yard for the last hour of light. Just keep your body moving and you still can burn those calories. Or could try biking. It's very easy on the joints and gets you outside.

Once again I didn't get a traditional workout out in this weekend, but did something that pushed me way past my comfort level. In 3 days and 3 people we put in a garage block foundation. The last day it was just 2 of us. I personally mixed over 9000 lbs of mortar and wheel borrowed it down into the foundation. We moved around 975 cinder blocks that weight roughly 38,000 lbs. Got the entire job done in about 28 hours of work. I will take a pic this afternoon of it. I'm still in pain from it.

Wow I did not wanna go to the gym today, but I went and had a great workout. I just needed to get going. Chest and back today.
Cable crossover in 3 positions, high, middle, low 8x3 each and finished with dB press drop sets. 3x10 40,35,30. Killed me.
Back was pull-ups 3 sets, lat prayers 3x8 and barbell rows, 135x4 on a Smith.
Pretty happy with an hour for all that.

Had a great workout last night. Did 1 hour on the bike trainer. Did 3x 5 minutes of max resistance while standing, thru out the ride. Then finish with 3 sets of 12 push ups and my 2 minutes of dead hang. Legs are sore this morning!

    Keep it up man!! LFG!

I did elliptical this morning for 35 minutes / roughly 4.5 miles. The machines at my gym have a "mountain" view on them and I try to get to the top of the mountain as quickly as I can in the forward direction, then do the same thing in reverse. Today was 18 minutes forward/16 reverse. It seems to take me a good 15-20 minutes to get "in the zone" then I can really start putting the miles on by speeding up and increasing the resistance.

After that, I did a bunch of back and shoulders stuff: rear delt flies, upright rows, dumbbell front delt raises, single arm bent-over rows, single arm cable lat raises, and endless rope pulldowns to finish it off.

T-Minus 24 days to test day. Of course I rolled my ankle pretty good at work last week, but I started back into my running. First run, 3/4 mile at 8:40/mile pace. Letting my ankle rest a few days and I'll start stretching it out longer distance. As long as I remain around an 8min/mile, I'm happy. No gym this time around. All calisthenics and simple work-outs, push-ups, kettle bell ladders, sit-ups.
