Very inspirational! Those kids sound like they're really dedicated. I'm sure that also has something to do with the coach as well. Congrats to your team!!

Need to find motivation to get into the gym for some cardio. Spring is well on its way but I’m starting to get stir crazy. I’m not an outside walker/runner in the winter.

You're missing out! That's the best time to do it.

Honestly I'm kinda mad it's not colder out. I went on a couple-mile walk at lunch today and didn't even put my jacket on.

Pushed alittle to far on this ride, it hurt. Great to get the distance, but mph average is still low. But over all felt great to be out. No cramps for 3 1/2 hours! Screenshot_20240210_172404_Strava.jpg

First day back from ski trip 182.5Lbs. Not bad, ate decent, not too crazy.

Inc hammer strength press, hypers, sit ups, OHP, flys, reverse flys, Inc DB press, DB shrugs, lateral raise, forearm curls, cable tri push downs.

Ran two miles on the new treadmill at home. Hopefully this one will work longer than the last one.

You’re hitting it great !! Keep grinding em out 1 work out at a time.

1 thing I can’t get my head around is the Stair Master or Power Mill.

My gym has like 6-7 in a row. Never have I seen them all able to run at once. Constantly broke down. This week like 4-5 consecutively with broke down signs on them.

L.A. Fitness does a crappy job on maintaining the equipment. Just this week on the lat cable pull down of the 3 machines, 1 the cable is jumping. Old man, older than me @ 65 lol, asks can I jump in with you because this one is broken. I said it’s not broken. The rack is loaded with dried out grease. Get a hand sanitizer wipe and wipe down both slides like I just did to mine, pointing to the floor with my wipey all greased up.

The worst part is I don’t know who to tell so these little things get taken care of. The Olympic bars are rusty and I bet the bearings never greased. Certainly never oiled as they should be. Weights don’t even slide on and off without big effort.

That sounds pretty frustrating. I would have assumed those larger chain gyms would have better maintenance.

We fought with SOLE to get our treadmill repaired for over a year. To their credit they sent us a couple new chip boards, belts, control panels etc etc and finally gave in and sent us a new one. This will be our third one in 11 years. Probably should have dropped the money on a Precor or some commercial grade one but I can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money when I can run outside or at my gym. Can’t beat the convenience of having one at home though.

We are starting the gym floor for our home gym. Should be completely together by the end of the week. I will post pics when done. We got adjustable dumbbells up to 90lbs, adjustable kb up to 80lbs, open trap bar, reversehyper/ghd machine, 4post 3x3 power rack, lat pull/low row, echo bike, stationary bike, treadmill that can uphill or downhill. Our neighbors come over to workout too. Gonna have the fittest street in New Mexico. Took a while to get everything together with how busy work is. No weak in the wild!

I mean to tell you the maintenance is non existent!

I gotta write LA Fitness to get themselves a weight and equipment maintenance to preserve the equipment they have.

Rowers make far better at home cardio pieces than anything else. A commercial grade Concept 2 rower retails for around $1400. It will last way longer and cost less than upkeep on any cheap at home treadmills. It also has the added benefit that it is far lighter and easier to move and can be stood on its end to save floor space if needed. Also, a far better workout for both strength and cardio. There is a reason Olympic rowing athletes look like linebackers and have a distance runner's endurance.

My weekend was pretty good overall. Saturday, I hit the gym in the morning for a few hours and did a strong 3-mile ruck in the afternoon since it was super nice outside. My first couple rucks last week I was sucking it up and averaging like 17-18 minute pace. I stepped it up on Saturday and got that down to 15:45 over those 3 miles. Felt good!

Sunday, I worked out at home and did a variety of kettlebell exercises, and then my younger son wanted to join in, so we teamed up and did some push-ups and sit-ups together. Then he told me I needed to do 200 jumping jacks in a row, so I hammered those out as well. That got the ol' heart pumping for sure! For my outdoor workout I went scouting/shed hunting for an hour and a half while my oldest was at baseball practice. It helps that one of the farms I hunt is a 3-minute drive from his practice facility.

I took it easy this morning since my legs were a little sore. Thirty minutes on the elliptical to get a sweat up, then a light leg day - weighted step-ups, leg presses, leg curls, leg extensions, and calf raises. I went slightly lighter on the weight and higher on the reps than usual. I will ruck for an hour tonight while my son is at basketball practice. I found a good route from the park district building down to the local river just over a mile one-way. It's entirely downhill on the way there and all uphill on the way back.

I would like a rower for the house. I have an elliptical and spin bike in addition to the treadmill. I have access to rowers at the gym so I’m not sure I will spend the money on one. As the price of everything has gone up I find it harder to pay these higher prices for things.

You know the economy has gone to hell when a doctor complains about the price of keeping himself healthy
