None, Canadians don't shovel snow, they drive on it and laugh at the failed response of city management to clear the streets after four days. I was at work before the sun was up yesterday and today.

On Tuesday, I did spend all day trying to unfreeze frozen pipes. Apparently, dripping multiple faucets wasn't good enough. The pipes did unthaw after several hours, but, not before I covered 22,000 steps and almost 8 miles walking around my 1/4 acre property working on it.

Snuck in my third workout of the week this morning - until my wife called to tell me my youngest has pink eye and I needed to work from home today. So, I cut it a little short, showered, and headed home.

I did manage 4.5 miles on the elliptical to get the body temp and heart rate up, followed by most of a pull day - dumbbell rows, upright barbell rows, bent bar curls, dumbbell front raise, endless rope pulldowns.

184 pounds this morning; up about 9 pounds in about 6 weeks. I've been pushing very hard for about 12 days compared to just maintaining for a couple of months. So weird. I don't really watch my weight much, but just find it interesting how much I can fluctuate. Aside from eating like a horse over the holidays, no real change in diet. I guess I was at a caloric surplus for a couple weeks. Anybody else fluctuate weight like this?

I myself rarely vary more than two pounds but I'm very careful at all times with my calorie intake. Being overweight most of my adult life and trying and inevitably failing at many diets over the years now has me on constant alert. It's very easy to fall back into eating too much without even realizing it, don't ask me how I know. The fact that you recognized it before it got out of hand is fortunate for you. Good luck on the journey, cause that's what it is!

I'm the same. I usually go from 182 - 188, back and forth. Been trying to lose a good 10 lbs this winter, but not working. Been in this range for 2 years. The problem I have is when I reduce my calories for extended periods of time, my body doesn't react well. Also seem to get sick easy.

It is normal for bodyweight to fluctuate 6-8 pounds over the course of a 24 hour period. It is a combination of hydration, water retention, food being digested and whether or not you have gone to the bathroom.

The most accurate weight to measure is early in the morning, on an empty stomach and after a BM.

I guess I could disclose that I love chocolate...lol. I think the culprit this time is...beer. I normally don't drink regularly anymore and I went about a week, maybe more, of a few beers (seriously 2 to 3) in the evening. Had 1 cocktail with dinner last Sunday and none since. That's for the entire month of January. December was a bit of a crap month for me on diet.

Maxed out at 315lbs on Sumo Deadlift today. Thought maybe I could pull 335lbs, but the grip was not there with a double overhand grip. Probably would have gotten with an alternating grip, which is why I don't test with that grip.

I got 1 1/2 hours on the bike this morning. Then this afternoon another 2 1/2 hours of shoveling the driveway and sledding with the kids. Got another 4-5 inches of snow today with a couple more inches coming. I'm thoroughly beat! Now the kids want to go out and sled in the dark tonight. I'm going to sleep good tonight.

That’s not a shabby workout at all. Hope the daughter is ok and no one catches it from her.

Probably has more to do with your accompanying fluid intake than your food intake. Food actually when spread thru the day in segments can increase your metabolism and burn more ?

So are you gorging food ? Or spreading it around into 6-8 meals a day ?

If you gorge bigger portions into less segments the body will store more than burn knowing that another meal is coming.

The first thing to blow off is your fluids before the body sabotages itself in a cannibolistic way to burn from itself because nothing is coming in to burn. This is why segmented meals rock. 3 squares a day is actually a lie. 6 is where it begins to turn your body into a well oiled machine.

The hardest thing in health eating is setting up segmenting portioned meals. We normally don’t take the time. Once we do, we can change our lives a ton !

30 minutes / 222 flights this morning followed by leg day. Single leg presses, calf raises, leg curls, weighted step-ups and some incline situps & cable trunk rotations to finish it off.
