Carbs and fat are needed. Offset your carb overload with more protein like Amino Acids. It’s not the perfect answer but puts you carbs into aiding protein digestion then turning into sugar .

This stupid cold has been kicking my butt this week. I still managed to work out Tues, Weds, and this morning. Planning on finishing strong tomorrow and hopefully catching a little extra rest this weekend.

Gonna try and get back on deployable status today. I think my foot is good enough. With everything going on I don’t want the be left out if something happens…

Also entering a local amateur strongman competition in February. I don’t know anything about it but I think it looks fun and I like competing in things. Will start a specific train up for it November 1.

Been staying consistent even with hunting. Ran a couple miles yesterday..pullups, abs, hamstrings/lower back. Getting some increasing medial knee pain on left knee. Joint line.

Hey boys, today is my first day of 75 again. After my two surgeries it took a while to get back into it. My hand can't hold full weight so I'll be in machines for a while. But it's time to change from One day to Day 1.

    Nice, man!! Get after it!!!

I ended up taking last Friday off from working out - this cold really had me feeling like crap. Slept in both Sat and Sun and ate like dump of course.

Today is the first day in a little over a week where I feel pretty much normal again. Got up and did 215 flights of stairs and pull day - cable rows, endless rope pulldowns, farmer carries, upright rows, bent bar curls, and straight arm cable pulldowns. Feeling pretty good and getting the diet back on point this week.

I really want to maintain my weight and workout consistency during hunting season this year. This is usually my danger zone when things start to fall off the tracks. Need to stay on the straight and narrow!

I'm not working out like I was. I've stopped doing my routine because of hunting. But need to get back into it at least a few times a week. Need to protect my back.

I have been putting in some major miles with hunting. Think just on Friday I had over 6 miles of scouting with my full gear on. Stand, sticks, pack, and bow. Tell you what I was sore after that. Most hunts I'm getting over 2 miles and hunt 3 - 4 times a week. Lost a good 3 - 4 pounds so far. Looking to lose a good 10 lbs. For mountain bike race season next spring, that's my goal.

Also it's my wife and I anniversary. We went out this weekend to dinner and a bar to dance. Ate to much food and drank for the first time in months! Haha but had a great time.

Stretch your IT band and Tensor Fasciae Latae. Both are most likely tight due to the increase volume in distance running.

Good to see you guys are still getting after it during the season.
I try to stay on track during the season as best I can but it never gets any easier. I snuck in a quick gym session between my morning and evening hunts yesterday. Blasted my legs before going out to breakfast with the wife today. A few pancakes were consumed but I was 177 lbs this morning, zero regrets.

Man my left knee is on fire sore. Ibuprofen and ice aren't working. I have to shut down my running until I can get this squared away.

I did something I’ve never really done before today working chest.

Takes me a bit to get warm and my bicep tendonitis runs up into my shoulder giving me shoulder pain but actually is bicep related. Chest bothers it maybe more than biceps training.

So I did a complete incline day.

    Incline dumbbells 55#’s x 25 reps
    Stretch biceps
    70#’s x16 reps
    80#’s x12

Incline barbells 135#’s x12 reps 3 sets , no weight variation, blood flushers.

    Incline Hammer Strength Machine
    4 total 2 per side plates of 45 #’s so 180 total x 12 reps x 3 sets

That’s 3 straight upper chest movements consecutively which I never did before in my life but none were heavy except the Hammer Strength last 2 sets. I was wearing down with it all.

Went to cables for flies 80,90,100 pounds per arm x 12 reps. Trying to get that negative stretch on those biceps and smash the positive and hold for blood to move. Blood doesn’t respond so well at 65 years old even when taking Nitric Oxide in my Pre.

Finished with dips wide grip on the assisted dip machine. 85,70, 55 pound assist x 20,16,12 reps.

Did no flat bench or decline bench at all. But both areas were hit secondarily.

Let’s see how that pump holds up. I’m having an issue between arm and shoulder in the front. So experimenting. I am a believer that flat barbell bench does nothing for me unless I load up the weight, which I don’t wanna do for risking a muscle tear. I can’t get a pump benching 135 20 reps. It’s more cardio for me then a pump.

Then did triceps rather lite weights and did my cardio, and basic core.

If your biceps are hurting during chest day, it is an indication that you have kyphotic posture in your shoulders. Starting doing rope face pulls as a part of your warm up, especially on any kind of upper body day. This will reposition your shoulders and open of the space where the biceps comes into the shoulder. More space = less inflammation.
