I almost always do my morning workouts before eating and I love it. I've never had an issue with being hungry or not having energy.

If I try to workout before eating breakfast, I will have two problems. First my blood sugar will drop and I will become like liquid. And I also will lose all energy before I finish the workout. I always eat a met rx protein bar before workouts. They are 410 calories and 32 grams of protein, so that's breakfast.

I typically like to eat while I work out. But I know my workouts are a little different with being geared towards more endurance and longer hours on a bike. That was one of the biggest gains I ever made in biking. But with shorter 1 hour workout, it didn't bother me at all. But I did feel ravenous afterwards. I kept my breakfast clean and simple. But I had food cravings all day. Plus being a rainy day and stuck inside all day didn't help. All I was doing was thinking about food!

Packing out the doe I killed involved carrying the meat, plus gear and bow about a mile. I butchered 35lbs of meat, plus weight of pack and gear, I packed out just under 60lbs which involved going up and over about a 300 foot ridge. I am glad I got in a few hikes earlier in the month with my 75lb pack load. Made that pack out easy. Spent Sunday afternoon butchering and doing chores around the house, calling today a rest day. Back to regular workouts tomorrow.

I'm sure I've said it before on the forum, but nothing can prepare you for a long drag of a deer. I know packing out a deer with a proper frame helps tremendously. But I'm old school in a way and like taking the deer out whole, minus the guts. Just like the process of hanging a deer and skinning it at home. But I get a full body soreness for a couple days after. One heck of a work out!

Unless I forgot my deer cart at home, I don't plan on dragging a deer on the ground ever again.

I would have preferred to hang in my garage and process. Unfortunately, temps around here are usually no conducive for that until late October/early November. I usually quarter every early season deer in the field just to get the meat to cool off faster and avoid spoiling.

3.5 miles plus bodyweight legs yesterday. Cranked out 110 pushups at work. Not much but better than nothing.

Got my deer drag in on Tuesday and here it's Thursday morning and I'm still sore! If I had to guess it was probably 3/4 mile. She was probably around 90 lbs doe. The worst part is parking is on highest part of property and I was in the lowest down in the swamps. Up hill drag the whole way.

I meant to turn on my strava just to see how far and how long it takes, but forgot. Will turn it on next time.

Been awhile but I got 50 pushups in a row last night. Probably not perfect form but oh well!

65 years old in November and I have no choice but to stay in the gym if I wanna keep hunting with a 80 pound bow.

Always natural none of that TRT or HRT. It’s a full time job for a retired auto finance director.

Clean and natural lifestyle pays off long term is all I’ll say. If I knew that in the 60’s and 70’s I’d had stayed as clean as I could.

Congrats brother, I'm right there with you. I realized 8yrs ago at age 60 I had to do something or I wouldn't be hunting, or anything in another 3-4 years. First I got my mind right and then I got my body right. Now at 68 I have more energy and stamina than when I was 50, and that's no exaggeration! I hear my peers saying all the time; "Man this getting old sucks!" But I'm telling you that if you eat right and get moving, it don't have to suck at all. Congrats to you and I wish you continued success!

You guys are inspiring! There are a few guys at my gym who are easily into their 60s and still crushing it. God willing, that will be me in a few decades!

I got to the gym all three days this week so far. My diet has been okay lately, but there is room for improvement. I'm pretty happy as long as I'm maintaining my weight and not losing any strength. So far, so good.

Monday was stairs/pull day. Tuesday was elliptical/legs. This morning, I skipped cardio and got some extra exercises in on push/core day. Tomorrow, I'll be back on the stairs once again! Gotta keep those dad calves looking good.
