the Mrs. birthday is today too.

Last night was my first volleyball game in about 9-10 months due to my elbow.
I've lost 26 pounds since June and been walking a lot and walking stairs a lot but moving horizontally and quickly jumping a lot is not the same thing. Feel good after playing, legs were a bit tired at the end of the 2nd game. I need to work in some squats and plyometrics into my routine.

@Justin this is the workout I referenced yesterday that I do as a circuit for a leg training day with cardio effect. It took me 42 minutes today. My apologies for neglecting the post-workout selfie. As a birthday present, I was intending on giving a you glimpse of my sweaty baldheaded man flesh after a man's man workout. Alas, I was too tired think about it in the moment and now I have cooled off too much for it show up in the picture. No homo.

Walked 2.5 miles and ran a mile yesterday, then did leg work. Today was quick pullup, pushup day. Off to work. Working out is the best mental medicine.

I took the morning off from working out and shot my bow, then I drove my kids to school. I may do a quick lift during lunch today, we'll see. Then get back after it tomorrow!

I got a pretty hard ride in last night. Definitely pushing it. Lot of riders dropping off. I stayed strong thru entire ride and felt I had a little more in me, but daylight ran out fast. Very humid and got completely soaked. Definitely didn't drink enough water during ride. Paying for today, very tired and sore. Screenshot_20230830_113549_Strava.jpg

Dreadmill is broken again so cardio has been a smattering of elliptical, bike, and rowing.

Wasn’t feeling my fullbody split today so I did 50 pull-ups, 50 chin ups, and 210 push ups.

    176.5 this morning

    Stay after it

Got up late, but did a mile walk and a mile run before this youth soccer tourney started. Better than nothing!

59 degrees at 7 am, the sweatshirt came out, very briefly... Couple hours of pickleball warmed me up...

Five mile run this morning. I don't know if it was the heat and humidity or what but I was panting like a rutting buck in November for the last mile. And then in the last half mile my shoe came untied. I thought I'm not slowing my pace now, so I continued. I'm lucky I didn't trip and break something.

Solid work Jim. The heat and humidity are no joke. Talk about perceived exertion.

Decided to switch things up this week a little bit and do three really hard workouts instead of four moderately hard workouts. I stole this one from Mountain Tough Fitness. This workout, in a word; humbling.

40 rounds in 62 minutes. I made it through round 30 without a break, rested two minutes did rounds 31-35, then rested 1 minute after each round for 36-40. Three reps of each exercise.

Power Cleans @half bodyweight-95lbs for me
    Pull Ups
Incline DB Chest Press @half bodyweight-did this one heavier and went with 60lb DBs.

You know its tough when I take the extremely rare post workout selfie, text my wife and tell her that I may need her to give me serious mouth-to-mouth later to make sure I am still alive.

Many of their workouts are deceptively brutal.

I have found that. I have not paid for their app subscription, but, I occasionally steal one from their social media. Incredibly hard and I nice switch from my own programming.
