I don't use it a ton. But it's been good for me as I try to re establish a healthy insulin response/reduce glycogen so my body can use fat. That is my main goal and it seems to be helping. Once I kind of stabilize then I will adjust a bit. With my body type not really concerned about losing a few lbs of muscle.

    :)

Well when you're as jacked as you are, you've got muscle to spare!

Ha. I'm just saying, based on my stomach fat, I'm willing to lose some muscle if I am losing a lot more belly fat. Right now in my life that is more important than anything else.

Same here. How much do you typically lose in a 24 hour fast? And how often are you doing them?

Long call day yesterday and I wasn’t feeling my normal work out today. Kept it simpler. 85 pull ups, 225 push ups, and 2 mile run.

I'm doing some hybrid intermittent fasting every day. From like 9pm to noon the next day I don't eat any carbs. Small breakfast of maybe 200 to 300 calories. So for 15 hrs or more I don't eat carbs.

Over the past month I've gone from maybe a 12 hr fast(I know not much but was very hard due to my carb cravings) to my longest today which was a 19 hr fast. I've paid attention to the days following my fasts of 16 to 19 hrs and its looking like a half lb of weight loss. Today should be more based on the duration and due to me running 2 miles at about the 16 hr fast mark. Although hard workouts are not, this High fat low carb diet is all new to me so I'm trying to learn more each day. I want to find a great, comfortable system.

Wasn’t sure where to put this but here seems good. Listened to Elkshape podcast with MTN Physio, Dr. Ward. He is a bow hunter and DPT with his OCS. He is the lead pt for the US archery team and has a company that specializes in hunting injuries. I live with a DPT who has her OCS (my wife) but for all you guys, you can look at the website. I will link the website and podcast. Podcast was mostly about shoulder stability and prehab.

Day 13 of 75 Hard. Feeling good, but the weight isn't moving the way it did last time around. Probably because I'm deliberately lifting a little more and eating a lot more protein. I can see changes in my physique since I started, but I'm pretty much the exact same weight. I imagine (hope) that will eventually change as I shed these last few pounds of fat and put on a little muscle prior to hunting season.

Saturday, I got up early and hit the gym for stairs cardio, followed by push day. Then I went and did treestand/trail cam/food plot work for a few hours at my lease for my outdoor workout. Yesterday I woke up at 4 am to go fishing, so I missed my morning workout, but got a solid kettlebell/core workout in at home around 3 pm. Then I took my dog and my boys on a 4-mile hike before dark. If I'm working, they are too!

Today was back to the gym for more stairs and a quick full-body circuit. I am a little sore in various areas from this weekend, so I figured I'd spread the pain across all muscle groups rather than just one of them. :)

Saturday I hiked another 4 miles scouting in the 108* heat index. Drained my 2L water bladder by the end of it. Plus a 32 Gatorade zero and a 16oz gatorade when I got home. I lost so much water weight in the heat that I had to tighten my belt on my pants to keep the weight of my pistol from pulling them down.

I went away with family to get away on a river down in west Virginia. Had a blast. I swam the entire weekend and my shoulders are destroyed. I think I was actually swimming around for over 8 hours on Saturday alone. I decided I was going to swim across the river. It's about 250 plus yards wide and over my head. So stupid. I had no flotation with me and barely made it. I had to stop and float on my back and try to calm myself down at one point because I was so tired and felt some cramping in my upper back. When I made it to other side, I had to to find a piece of drift wood to float on just to make it back to other side. Took about a hour to swim over and back. Heck of a workout.

Sick with my weight. 191 this morning. Just a month ago before I blew out my back I was 183. Feel like crap and need yo lose this weight. Eating all that bad food this weekend didn't help! Haha

It was definitely stupid. I had no business trying that.

Coached open gym last night and within 5 mins of starting a ball hit the ground then slammed up and jammed my right finger. Unclear if it's broken since I just taped it up. Made for rough push ups today. But I got through 2hr last night and 2hr this morning.
I can't believe VB has started already.

Speaking of push-ups, I did a bunch yesterday on one leg while holding my other leg off the ground. That was interesting. I alternated legs between sets of 10 at a time. Definitely gets some additional leg/core action when you're balancing on a single leg.

    Hope the finger is okay!

Volleyball starts end of August, I'm hoping to be down another 10-12 pounds by then coming in under 200 for the first time since..... college?
Haven't played since last winter due to elbow injury/surgery.
I'm super psyched to get back to playing again. its good cardio when playing against good teams, its great socially when playing against bad teams.

Speak for yourself! I'll be 43 soon and still have a full head of non-gray hair, and I am probably in better shape than I've been in a few decades. Screw getting old! I have a lot of mosh pits to go in and trees to climb before I start complaining about being old.

Here's what I'll do if'n I kill a 200lber this year. I'll call my son-in-laws and my grandsons and let them do it while I watch from the sidelines trying to convince myself that I could've still done it by myself! Hey, there's gotta be some perks to getting old!!
