6 events. Met a couple of my goals.

Hit 55 sit ups in a minute and ran 11:50 in the mile and half during the last event. In the 300 meter dash my competitive nature started taking over. I started mowing people down the last 150 meters. One more to go and I would have won. In race mental dialogue.."you gonna risk pulling a hamstring dummy?"...I slowed down. Lol

Well the (current) plan is overnight at Albert Mtn this Wed Night. Here was our plan. Though my son messed up his back, so this may turn to a solo trip if I can rope one of my kids into dropping a car at Fontana.

Thurs - Albert Mtn to Wayah (21mi) or Cold Spring (~26 mi)
Fri - hike to Sassafras Gap
Sat - hike to Fontana Dam (total 66.8 miles)
    Sunday - Contingency

My solo plan is more aggressive in total miles, but less of the AT covered: Park at Nantanhala, hike to Albert Mtn and back. Total distance 74 miles r/t.

Zarr and I finished our first spartan race today!

Did better than I thought, most of it was mud halfway to your knees because of all the rain we've had. Ended up finishing in just over two hours and doing 155 burpees.

I didn’t train as hard as I would have liked, but I’ll definitely be doing another one in the future at some point. My running was actually pretty good, and the pure strength stuff I did fine on, but I have a lot of work to do when it comes to hanging bodyweight type obstacles.

Zarr, DeCroo and I are all doing another biggest loser contest until 10/1. My goal is to drop 30lbs by then. I’m pretty motivated right now to make a bunch of progress this summer and think I’ll be working on more than just the diet and running that I focused on last summer.

Down 7lbs since I started the first week of June. Been running 1-3 miles a day and doing some moderate lifting while trying to keep my carb intake before 100.

Day 1 made it to Wayah. Last 5-6 miles up and over Wayah were a butt kicker. Late start on day 1 deciding if we wanted to wait out a morning storm...

I fell hard on the 10th badly breaking both wrists. On the 13th I had to have both of them surgically repaired with plates and screws. I am now in hard braces for 6 months and looking at a year or more for complete recovery. The good news is that my trainer said she still has a million ways to torture me. So, two weeks after surgeries I am back at it. It felt good to work out again.

What a bummer man. How did you take such a nasty fall? Will you be able to at least use a crossbow this fall?

Thanks guys, been away from the computer since I posted. I just slipped on a tote lid in the garage and fell backwards hard. If I hunt this Fall, it will have to be with help and with a crossbow.

That right there is why you will kill a 200 inch buck. :) Fletch...the stars are aligning. You let some great bucks walk last year and now the deer Gods plus the physical rehab Gods are going to shine on you!
