Finally went to gym over weekend, 7:30 min mile to start then went and did super sets chest and back for roughly an hour and finished with a 8:00 mile. I’m sore today, but was good to get back, my cardio is weak I was struggling to keep the pace towards the end of each mile. Gonna shoot for a 3 day split each week depending on my wife’s schedule, I’ll prob just hit it before work.

    Solid work, fellas!!!

Saturday morning I got up early before our annual staff meeting and wasn't feeling my best, which is typically when I like to push myself a little bit harder than usual. Ended up with a new PB on the stairs - 214 floors. Followed that up with a pretty solid push day.

I took Sunday off to rest, read a book, go to my son's baseball game, and clean up around the house.

Today I was back at it - a solid 30 min/4.5 miles on the elliptical, followed by pull day. Wide grip seated cable rows, lat pulls, standing bent bar curls, upright rows, shoulder shrugs and single arm side cable raises.

After reading a bunch of non-fiction books during 75 Hard, I'm temporarily back to fiction. I'm currently reading "Burner" by Mark Greaney, which is the 12th book in the Gray Man series. When I'm done with this, I'll jump over to Only The Dead by Jack Carr - which is the latest in his series as well.

If you're looking for a good non-fiction book, the two I enjoyed the most during 75 Hard were Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Outlive by Dr. Peter Attia. Both books I fully intend on reading again at some point in the not-too-distant future.

I’ve read both of those and agree they are very good. I haven’t read any fiction since I read ole yeller to my daughter when she was little. Not opposed to it just to much good nonfiction to read.

Fiction books are my guilty pleasure. I rarely watch TV or movies these days as I'd rather sit down with a cup of coffee and a good book instead. I grew up on Sci-Fi Fantasy novels and still read a lot of those to this day. I recently finished all of the books in the Dresden Files series and am contemplating re-reading Stephen King's Gunslinger books. Although, with so much stuff out there I haven't read, it's tough to go back and read things again. I feel like I'm missing out.

To keep on track with health & fitness - today's workout absolutely SUCKED. I didn't want to get out of bed, then I didn't want to push myself to really get after it. I warmed up then jumped on the bike for a spin class. About halfway through something went wonky with my bike and it lost connection to the app. I had to quit the class and reboot the damn bike to get it back online. By that point I was done with it so I did a quick kettlebell circuit and some core exercises before calling it a morning. I still got my 45 minutes in, but total calories burned was only around 400. Certainly not my best performance, but it is better than nothing.

Back at it tomorrow! Planning on a hard stair session followed by leg day.

Think I might try my next goal this evening. See if I can ride for 4 hours on the bike and do it feeling good and some what fast pace. I haven't been hydrating much today at work, so need to start heavy water intake from here on out. My plan is to ride 2 hours with enough food and water, then refuel my bottles at my truck and continue as long as I can.

As few as possible. I feel like if I don't do SOMETHING every day that I'm being lazy and slipping backward. So I try to do at least a low-impact workout almost every day. Depending on what I've got going on, I have been taking 1-2 days a week completely off from any training.

I haven't lost a ton of weight over the past 5 months, but I do look different. Last night was the first night that I looked at myself in the mirror and felt like I had changed physically. Have to keep pounding.

Keep going! I'm like that. I want to lose 10 more lbs, but the more I work out, I just seem to be steady on weight. But you can feel it in your belt. It slowly getting smaller over the weeks.

I know what you mean. Definitely listen to your body and give it the rest it needs. There alot of guys I know that bike 5 or 6 days a week, and always seem to be in a limbo with performance. I personally want to ride more but can't due to time. But by giving my body days to rest between bike rides, my performance jumps drastically each week. It's harder mentally because all I think about is my next ride and I feel like I'm slacking.

If I feel like my body needs a break I will take a day off for sure. I just always feel like I should be doing something and have a hard time sitting still.

And I'm with you guys on the body changes without losing weight thing. I've been hovering in the 183-186 range for a month or so, but my waist continues to shrink. I started Feb 1 stretching a 36 waist to the max, and now I have some 34s that are getting loose on me. I'm not sure I've been below a 34 waist since some time in high school. The idea of having to buy all-new shorts & pants gives me anxiety. That's a lot of money.

2 something to do something is the motto at work haha. I claw to just get to 200. My genetics basically force me to workout as hard as possible or I lose weight.

Currently can’t lift because recovering from foot surgery last week. I began lifting arms and seated upper body this week. Next week get to start light running in the antigravity treadmill. I’m jonesing to start lifting and training again.

    Ride #14

    40 miles
    9.7 mph average
    4 hours 5 minutes

So guys I beat my goal! That was absolutely brutal and I'm feeling it today. Works going to suck! Not sure what my next goal will be at this point, maybe start doing a couple races again.

So I've been using strava to record my biking and there has been a big discrepancy between my bike computer and the GPS on strava. Often my mileage is off even when riding with others that are on strava. But here is my results on there. That was the toughest thing I've done in awhile. Rode 17 miles with another rider, then finished the last segment by myself. Much funner riding with others. Screenshot_20230614_074543_Strava.jpg
